Cottage in Wheatley, Nr. Oxford, Oxfordshire, England - Village Location Within Walking Distance Of Shops, Post Office, Bank And Excellent Coffee Shop
Set in the courtyard of our own home, but completely separate and private, Gadbury Cottage is cosy and very comfortable whether your choice is for a winter or summer break. It offers an ideal location to discover Oxford and the nearby attractions of Oxford City, Blenheim Palace, Shotover Park, Waterperry Gardens, Otmoor nature reserve, the Chilterns and Cotswolds Hills. Wheatley has all the facilities to meet your immediate needs - 2 foodstores, baker, coffee shop, post office, bank and choice of restaurants and pubs. The village has a long history through it's location on the main coaching route from London to Oxford - it was once descibed as the most agreeable stopping place between Beaconsfield and Woodstock. Today it's transport links are still excellent being just 2 miles from the Thornhills Park and Ride and a similar distance from the M40. There are regular bus services to Oxford and to Haddenham/Thame train station. Central London is c53 miles and Heathrow c45 miles, both have good public transport links.

About Mrs Jenny Steele
My husband and I have recently retired and now have the time to focus our attention on our two holiday cottages. Between holiday lets we spend as much time as possible in our cottage in Devon as we love the area of the South Hams. We are also delighted to enable people to enjoy the wonderful City of Oxford and surrounding area whilst staying at our cottage in Wheatley.
Mrs Jenny Steele purchased this Cottage in 1994
Why Mrs Jenny Steele chose Oxford
Proximity to Oxford and convenient village location.
What makes this Cottage unique
Easy access to the City of Oxford with its many attractions, yet set in peaceful village location with lovely countryside roundabout and excellent places to enjoy walking.
Great place to stay
We are an Australian couple who have stayed in the cottage for eight weeks this year and for four weeks in 2016.
The cottage has been tastefully renovated by its friendly owners Jenny and Martin Steele and is located in a grand house with beautiful gardens.
It's situated in Wheatley which is a lovely village on the outskirts of Oxford and centrally located to the Cotswolds and well serviced by coaches to London.

Very comfortable cottage
This is a very nice cottage with tasteful decor, very comfortable beds and a great heating system on what was a freezing weekend! So lovely and cosy. Excellent for access to Oxford and surrounding areas. Would we stay there again? Absolutely! So highly recommended.

Lovely old cottage
Would highly recommend this cottage to people visiting the area. The cottage is both clean and well equipped, the wifi speed is also good quality.
Good quality, warm and welcoming from both the owners and the property itself, including the wine!
Cosy but spacious with everything you need for a winter holiday - warmth, nice beds and a comfortable living space. Also a good kitchen and bathroom. Our toaster gave up the ghost on our first night but the owner replaced it with their own toaster, providing a new one the next day. Wheatley is also a pretty village with good bus links to Oxford so no car required! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay (especially the snow!).
