About Ryk Dickinson
I live in a quiet village on the Yorkshire Wolds with my girlfriend and cat. We love mountain biking in and around North Yorkshire are keen surfers and often indulge in a spot of jet ski fishing. I have been a self employed property developer for the past ten years with a particular passion for period houses.

I wouldn't hesitate to book this property again. I stayed for the weekend with 10 other ladies and we were all so impressed! The house is gorgeous and beautifully decorated with everything you could possibly need, the photos don't do it justice. Ryk was so helpful with local knowledge and we were made to feel so welcome! The house is well placed with town, bars, restaurants and the beach all within easy walking distance. A fantastic weekend with lovely memories made! Thank you for sharing your lovely property with us!
Thank you so much for your comments Liz.
As perfect guests we would love to welcome you again.
An excellent property, well appointed, spotlessly clean, lots of space for all the family.
This was the first time we had all three generations of the family together for a holiday - 8 adults, 3 children (aged 3 -11) and 2 babies. And a good time was had by all! It was great to have a large dining table we could all sit round, a good size kitchen to cook in and plenty of comfortable seating in the lounge. The bath/shower rooms were superb, with clean modern fittings and excellent showers. The kitchen was well equipped, plenty of crockery and cutlery and pots and pans, but we could have done with some casserole type dishes that we could put in the oven. Large water jugs would have been useful too, as would a milk jug. As we were four families, each with a car, parking was a bit of an issue. The families with the babies had the permits, and the rest of us had to use nearby roads which were free, but in disc zones, so you had to remember to move the car at regular intervals if around during the day.. The house is very close to the centre of Scarborough, useful for the shops but it could be a bit noisy in the evenings. However, it usually quietened down later on and left the seagulls to provide the background music for the rest of the night! The landlord was very helpful and there were biscuits, cake and a bottle of wine waiting for us on arrival, plus a few essentials. Thank you Ryk! There was plenty for us to do around Scarborough and beyond, from Football Golf near Cayton to the nearby Sea Life Centre and great beaches for our sandcastles. Cycling in the Dalby forest was recommended by the more energetic in our group! The Stephen Joseph Theatre is just round the corner and has some excellent productions. All in all a really enjoyable week for all the family - grandparents through to the three month old. We can thoroughly recommend the house and the North Yorkshire coast.
Lovely House Brilliant Location
Lovely house, probably the very best equipped of any holiday rental property we have stayed in.
One minute walk to pedestrian shopping area, less than five minutes to railway station and fifteen to twenty minutes walk to good, sandy beach.
Thank you so much for your great review Vivien.
With the respect that you and your party showed the property, and as the perfect guests, you are welcome back anytime.
Spacious clean and comfortable
Everything is well organized , gaining entry and collecting parking permits on arrival . There wasn't a problem parking near to the property to unload .The accommodation was spacious, very clean and tidy . We were delighted by the number of extras that were provided , even DVD's to watch .It is in a very good position with shops , beach and restaurants close by . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay .
Perfect house, tastefully decorated. Brilliant for large grouos
We took my parents to Scarborough for Mum to show us her roots! Castle View made our stay brilliant with loads of space and everything you could want from a house. Comfy beds, lovely showers, huge table for us all to eat at, cosy lounge and an Xbox to keep the kids happy :) Ryk was helpful from the start of my booking process right up until we left. Attention to detail, faultless. Go and stay with your friends or family, you won’t be disappointed! Thank you Ryk.
Thank you for your great review of Castle View. We are thrilled that you had a great stay and, as the perfect guests, would love you to return.
Great house, lovely decor, fantastic location
Really good kitchen & utensils, plenty of crockery, really comfy beds, good quality fittings, fab location- thumbs up!
Castle View is within walking distance (10 mins) to the two award winning beaches in Scarborough. Famed for its surf, North bay hosts the surf championships in October with South bay being calmer and safer for swimming. Both beaches are lifeguard patrolled in the summer season.
Castle View is approx. 2 mins walk from the main train station with car parking opposite. There are parking permits provided for 2 cars free of charge.
