Beautiful flat in picturesque country setting
A great apartment a few miles outside Santiago but easy drive to town. The owner very helpful in letting us know an area to park where there was 24 hour parking garage just outside the old walls of the city, making it easy to come and go. Also, was very strategically located to taking day trips to many areas of Galicia. The owners were great, leaving fire wood every morning so we could have a fire in the fire place and keeping us supplied with fresh eggs from their chickens. There is a pool for use in warmer weather. We were a group of friends traveling together and the place was very salacious. Would be great for a family.
Lovely family holiday.
The property was in a great location only 15 mins from Santiago. Our hosts were friendly & provided us with lots of fresh fruit & veg which was greatly appreciated. The Casa has 3 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms which were spacious & comfortable. Downstairs was a small sitting room & a kitchen with an eating area. This was only used when the weather didn't allow us to eat outside in the BBQ area. The kitchen was well equipped & had an oven & 3 ring hob. The only observation I would make is that the fridge was too small for a family of 6. Also the small freezer area at the top didn't allow for much storage.
There was a large pool which the kids enjoyed very much. The garden was ideal for relaxing in the sun. The kids also enjoyed playing with the 2 family dogs & going for walks in the countryside in the evenings.
Santiago is a beautiful area & the cathedral well worth a visit. Hopefully we will return.
Fantastic holiday house
We stayed at Casa Bartulo for a week and had a great time.
The house is comfortable and clean and the garden is amazing (especially when you're travelling with kids) Pepe, Carmen and Raquel were very nice to us and made us feel welcome. We loved the fresh eggs, figs, grapes etc. They tasted so good!
Our daughter loved to play and cuddle with the dogs and had a great time running around in the garden.
The house is perfectly located to explore the region.
If you're looking for a nice holiday house close to Santiago, I can highly recommend Casa Bartulo!
Family Holiday in Santiago
WOW - This place is amazing - We stayed ( 20/06/2015 - 29/06/2015) in the bigger house Myself - My Husband-Son and my Papa (dad). Pepe -Carmen & Raquel are lovely they made us feel very welcome and very much at home.
This house is so close to the airport 10mins and so close to Santiago town. The House and the grounds are amazing and this shows by the love the house & grounds is given as they are well looked after by Pepe & Carmen that live their also. They have two very lovely dogs an older one and a puppy Chusca that has given us very happy memories watching our son play with them. My Dad loved this house as he comes form Santiago and spent many an hour chatting to Pepe and Carmen in the morning or in the evening. This is one house that we would come back to as we have family in Santiago so for us its good.
Thank you Pepe Carmen & Raquel for making us feel so welcome. xxxxxx

Fantastic week
Wonderful property set in beautiful gardens and must be three acres of land.
Spotless quality accomodation, everything we needed and so so relaxing sitting in the grounds. Perfect weather and not at all humid. Handy base also for all of Galithia. Lovely family and two great dogs. We enjoyed every minute. Would recommend to anybody who likes peaceful surroundings and no local mass shopping. Thenk you for all the eggs, and salad. Mike and Lynne Dean. P.S. We will be back.
Casa Bartulo was a home away from home!
We stayed at Casa Bartulo while visiting our daughter who is studying abroad in Santiago this college semester! We were SO glad we chose Casa Bartulo!
The house is adorable--very clean with a wonderful wood-burning stove in the family room, gleaming hardwood floors throughout the upstairs, nice large bathrooms with plenty of hot water, and a kitchen with a small refrigerator, stove and microwave.
Raquel speaks very good English, and Pepe & Carmen and their lovely family (we were lucky to meet their adorable grandchildren and Carmen's mom) were very good about helping my husband along with his Spanish. We did not arrive until late on Sunday evening (around 11:30) and even so, Pepe and Carmen had waited up for us to greet us, helped us carry in our luggage, and had a roaring fire in the wood-burning stove!
The house is close enough to Santiago (only 15 minutes away) that our daughter was able to stay with us, and my husband was able to drive her to class each day, but far enough away to get away from the "hustle and bustle" of the city. It was very peaceful and quiet--a perfect place from which to explore the beauty of Galicia!
Carmen and Pepe brought us fresh eggs from their chickens as well as fresh kiwis--what a treat and so delicious! I had not had eggs that fresh since I moved off of our farm when I was ten years old.
We were amazed at the stonework done by Pepe!
We would highly recommend Casa Bartulo for a special treat--you will leave in love with Spain, the house and Carmen, Pepe, Raquel and family!
Location
Santiago de Compostela (10 minutes drive) is a famous medieval town. Its most astonishing landmark is its cathedral, where thousands of pilgrims come to visit the tomb of Santiago Apostol. You can also enjoy a great variety of cultural activities and concerts, as well as shopping and lively evenings and late nights. You can't miss a day trip to Costa da Morte,' at the end of the world'. The main highlights are: Fisterra, The amazing views of the sea in Cabo Vilán or the cliffs in Cape of Touriñán. 45 minutes drive, you can visit A Coruña, a modern city with a beautiful old town and the most ancient Roman lighthouse still in use 'Torre de Hércules. White sandy beaches are in As Rías Baixas, 1hour drive.
