17th Century Barn with exterior Hot Tub

Bedrooms 4
Property type barn
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

About the property

Barn in Tenby, Pembrokeshire, Wales - Exterior wood burning hot tub

Hafan Dawel is a 17th century barn which has been meticulously renovated providing luxurious and unique holiday accommodation. It also caters for children with a huge wooden play area including 3 swings, rock wall, bridge and fireman's pole. The hot tub is a fun way to spend an evening maybe with a glass of champagne or playing water games with the children.

Hafan Dawel is located in the village of Penally, which is 1 mile from Tenby, it provides plenty of parking spaces and a garden whilst being very close to the centre of Tenby (where parking and outside space can be very limited). The village of Penally is a beautiful coastal village which is worth exploring with its stone cottages and medieval church. Penally beach is an unspoilt and little known spot which is located at the far end of Tenby's South Beach and can be accessed from Penally train station. The barn is in a great location for visiting the local attractions of Folly Farm, Heatherton, ManorHouse Wildlife Park, The Dinosaur Park and Oakwood. The boat trips around Tenby and a visit to Caldey Island are a must when weather permits and the wonderful Pembroke Castle is only a short drive away.

A wonderful place to stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at the barn in Penally in May. It was lovely and spacious and nicely done out. The kitchen had all the essentials, beds were comfy. Our toddler enjoyed the play area outside and we all enjoyed the hot tub; it took us a while to get it going but was lovely and hot eventually! We walked to the beach and into Tenby several times. The pub over the road is now a Chinese and was pretty good for food on our arrival evening. There's also a lovely pub at the other side of the village which does a fab Sunday lunch. All in all a wonderful relaxing stay in brilliant accommodation. Highly recommend.

Wonderful family holiday home

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our holiday in Penally, 8 adults and 3 babies fitted easily into the property- we took our own travel cots and one high chair, there was one already at the property. The hot tub was great fun and the house was well fitted out and very clean and comfortable. We would have appreciated bedside lights and tables but managed without. We took extra towels which was good. The children's play area outside the house would have been great for older children. We had several walks, Tenby is a lovely little seaside town surrounded by beautiful interesting countryside. We recommend the museum/ art gallery and the lifeboat house. Thank you for a relaxing break!

Renovated Cottage with a homely feel

  • 5 of 5

This property has been renovated to a high standard. The property is warm, the beds comfortable, there is a pub and shop within walking distance. There is plenty of parking. Tenby, attractions and beaches are only a short distance away. The playground and the hot tub are nice extras.

Excellent Holiday home for all ages

  • 5 of 5

Excellent holiday home, everything you need to enjoy a week away, with extras. The Grandchildren loved the play-area and hot tub, as did the adults in the party.

The 4 Bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, meant there was plenty of room for all 7 of us.I Have no hesitation in recommending The Barn to anyone looking for a family holiday. The owners were most helpful both before and during the holiday.

Good locations and lots to do in the area.

We will definitely be returning in the not to distant future

Barn at Penally

  • 5 of 5

The Barn was amazing, plenty of room for the whole family, there were ten of us and we probably could have fitted a few more in.

The standard of the rooms and furnishings was excellent with plenty of bathrooms to go round.

The kids loved the climbing frames and the adults liked the pub across the road.

The location was great with Tenby town only a couple of minutes in the car.

The only down side was that the hot tub took a lot of warming up but I think the wood we has was was not totally dry.

I would definitely recommend the Barn as a location for a family break.

Owner's Response: Thanks very much for the review we're glad you enjoyed your stay. I appreciate that the hot tub takes around 3 hours to warm up but we felt that is was the most hygienic way for our guests with fresh water required between stays and no chemicals. If the covers were left on I think it would take around 1 hour to reheat the next day. Thank you, hope to see you again soon.
