Overview

Downtown Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, Studio , 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

If this unit is booked we have two other condos in the building. This waterfront penthouse is located in the heart of downtown Victoria in the Mermaid building. On the waterfront of the harbour and the edge of the Gorge waterway, the Mermaid Building allows its guests to experience downtown Victoria, the Inner Harbour, the Gorge Waterway, the ocean, the upper part of the island and Vancouver, with ease.

Some of Victoria’s most popular restaurants surround the building, making it easy to have gourmet meals with out the worry of taxis or drinking and driving.

Take a Whale watching tour right outside the door. Or rent a kayak and glide through the harbour to the open ocean to discover the Pacific’s wild life. Or paddle up the Gorge waterway and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Salmon Fish with a charter or rent a power boat and just take it easy touring Victoria from the water’s perspective.

Just steps away, the harbour sea planes take passengers in a half hour flight to downtown Vancouver, offering great shopping on Robson street, Theatres, Stanley Park and more, and all in a day allowing one to return home for dinner.

The Mermaid neighbours Historic China Town with its many vegetable stores, restaurants and curio shops.

Romantic horse drawn carriages carry passengers through the inner harbour past the parliament buildings, the world famous Royal BC Museum, live entertainment, Underwater Sea Gardens, Omnimax Theatre, Miniature World, Double Decker sight seeing tours, and tour buses to the renowned Butchart Gardens.

Cycle, stroll, run, or even ride a horse on the picturesque Galloping Goose Trail. This multi-use trail, formerly a railway line, moves right beside the Mermaid Building, through urban, rural and wilderness scenery on its 55-kilometre journey from Victoria to Sooke. Whether you're commuting to work, meandering on a weekend afternoon or pacing yourself from Sidney to Sooke, the trail is yours to enjoy.

Catch the little Harbour Ferry stopping at the Mermaid and travel right up the Gorge waterway to Tillicum and down to the Empress.

The Suite sleeps two. There is a queen bed. Nothing has been spared in furnishing this space. It is fully equipped with a 32 inch flat screen Smart TV, stereo, DVD player, high speed Wifi internet and modem, microwave, dishwasher, stove, fridge, blender, toaster, coffee maker, washing machine and dryer. The kitchen is fully equipped. The bathroom has a claw foot tub, separate shower and pedastall sink.

romantic and very bright

  • 5 of 5

We found this top floor condo after 6 years searching all across North

America looking for the perfect winter get away from snow. We were so

impressed by this romantic and very bright penthouse apartment and the great

views of city and inner harbor with all the activity. This was the best and

our favorite place we stayed in Victoria. It is ideally located for

restaurants, shopping and all the tourist attractions. The halibut tacos at

the Canoe across the street are amazing.

Beautiful Victoria condo!

  • 4 of 5

Good location. Very pretty condo, well stocked kitchen and good overall layout. Very sunny exposure can make it too hot at times.

Upon arrival we were greeted by Francis, who showed us the "lay of the land" and was very attentive to our needs.

Perfect Location to Explore Victoria

  • 5 of 5

This studio apartment has a spacious feel to it. The views of the water are lovely and engaging. The location is an easy walk to charming places to eat, the harbour and surrounding sites. We enjoying eating at Canoe with its stunning outdoor seating area which is right across the street from the unit. There is secured garage parking garage under the building. The property was very clean and well maintained.

We highly recommend a drive to Butchart Gardens. The owner was a pleasure to work with and very helpful. One thing to note is that the unit does not have air conditioning and can become quite warm due to its sunny location. A fan and shades are provided. At the time of our visit, there was construction across the street, but we were not troubled by noise issues. we would recommend this place to family and friends.

such a great location and views!!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed 2 months and couldn't have made a better choice of a VRBO.

The place is well supplied with quality pans and goods. It was very clean and the views of the Johnson Bridge and the harbor wonderful. So much to do in town and we walked to it all. Loads of restaurants nearby as is Chinatown and the little ferry boat dock right there in front of us.

We found Jeannie and Martin very helpful and easy to deal with upon arrival and the reservation process.

Good place to stay

  • 4 of 5

Located on the edge of Chinatown and within easy walking distance of downtown and the downtown sights. A well-maintained studio in a secure building. Amenities were decent and big ticket cleaning supplies were provided (laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, etc). Could have used an extra blanket (afghan) for use on the sofa. Key fob for the elevator was finicky but tolerable. We were met on-site on time as promised and were told to call if we needed anything. That was much appreciated. Overall a positive experience. Would stay there again.

Happy With Accommodation

  • 5 of 5

Bright and Cheerful! It was convenient and close to everything we wanted to see. It was spacious and we enjoyed the outside patio for our pre dinner drinks. The views of the water were great. The only negative thing was that the grocery store was a far walk. The area around the condo is excellent. High end furniture stores, good restaurants, old town and China Town. This is definitely the best part of down town for walking and sightseeing. Jeanie was eager to answer our questions and help us find restaurants.
