Benthall House, 4 Benthall Farm, Harbour Road, Beadnell, N'land, England - Great Location, 1 Minute Walk To The Beach

Benthall House at 4 Benthall Farm is in addition to our other three properties in Beadnell - Shepherds Cottage, The Bothy and Shepherds Lodge(Ref: E10292) Benthall House is a large detached house with sea views.

Spend time in the upstairs lounge where you can enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony overlooking the rocky bay or enjoy a BBQ in the enclosed garden at the rear of the house.

The house has 4 large bedrooms, 3 double rooms (1 en-suite) and 1 twin room.

The open plan kitchen/dining room, sun room and 1 bedroom is located on the ground floor. There is also a large shower/WC room on the ground floor so ideal for those who cannot manage the stairs. Upstairs there are 2 further double rooms (1 ensuite) and the twin room, a family bathroom with a bath and shower. The lounge is also located upstairs to make the most of the sea views.

There is a paved area at the front for parking with gates so safe for children and pets. Benthall house is Ideally situated on the sea front, where you can investigate the rock pools on the small bay across the road or stroll along to Beadnell bay, only a minutes walk. 10 minutes walk into the village there are two lovely family, pet friendly pubs, a beautiful cafe and village shop.

About Samantha Smith

Hi, my name is Samantha and I own 4 holiday homes with my mum, dad and brothers. I live in Morpeth Northumberland with my husband and 2 boys.

We have spent many years since the boys were small enjoying the Northumberland Coastline of Bamburgh, Seahouses and Beadnell and we would like you to experience all that it has to offer.

We have Shepherds Cottage, The Bothy in the Garden, Shepherds Lodge and Benthall House Ref: E17847

We are very fortunate as we are only 40 minutes from the cottages and love to stay there when we get the chance.

We have three other holiday cottages in Beadnell and love the village and Beadnell Bay. Benthall House appealed to us as it is right on the sea front, only a minutes walk from the beach

What makes this house unique

The house is on the sea front with fabulous views from the upstairs balcony. It is walking distance to the beach and to the shop. There are also two pubs in the village with are within easy walking distance

We had a fabulous few days celebrating a family birthday. We made lots of memories and loved every minute. The warm welcome we received really set the tone of the weekend, and the house exceeded all expectation even though I knew it looked good when I booked it. I felt that the whole booking process was easy and straightforward and the owner went out of her way to ensure we had all the information we needed. The welcome cake and wine was a really lovely touch. I'd definitely recommend the house to others and thank you for helping to make a special occasion so memorable.

Lovely House, Great Location,Fantastic Break

The house is located on the beach road, very close to the glorious beaches which we loved almost as much as our dogs. The local pubs offer great food, There is easy access to all the areas places of interest.

The house is lovely ... spacious yet cosy, and well equipped.

We would love to return

Lovely property and location

We had a great weekend at Benthall House to celebrate our son's birthday with 3 generations meeting up. The owner Sam met us on arrival and to show us around the property. She was extremely friendly and helpful and very kindly left us a delicious cake and bottle of wine which was much appreciated.

The property is very clean, comfortable and well equipped with stunning views of the coast. It is in a fantastic location with many interesting places to visit. We can recommend the Billy Shiels' Farne Island boat tour from Seahouses, it was amazing to get so close to see the seals.

A wonderful weekend in a great property and we look forward to visiting again as there is still so much to see.

Spacious, welcoming, clean and homely

A group of seven of us plus a toddler have just stayed for the weekend. We were in the area for a friend's wedding and chose the house mainly due to location, but we would all happily visit again for a holiday in its own right.

The welcome from Steve was warm and friendly, and informative. The cake you very kindly left us was delicious and a real treat! All of the rooms were comfortable and very nice and the whole house was in great condition and clean. The kitchen was well-stocked with equipment and there was plenty of storage space. There were lots of nice touches (the books and board games were great!) and the location was fantastic - beautiful sea views from the lounge. It was a bit chilly to make use of the balcony, but what an amazing addition that would be in summer.

The house was warm and extremely comfortable for our group. I know the couple with the toddler appreciated the extra sitting space downstairs (they were up rather earlier than the rest of us!). All of our correspondence before the stay was prompt and very helpful.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the property and hope we can make it back up for a visit at some point.

Lovely location and wonderful property

Met and showed around property by one of the owners. A homemade Cake to greet us was scrummy and wine and milk very welcome. Lots of space in the house with everything you could need for 6 adults 2 children and 4 dogs.2 min walk to a sandy beach and crashing wave beach straight opposite. Perfect. It was too cold to use the terrace even with the piles of throws left for guests to use. A shame as it looked ideal to have a sundowner whilst watching the sea.

I'd love to come back in the summer but recommend it for any time of year.

Fantastic Xmas

We were delighted to find a house for our family Christmas holiday on the stunning , unspoilt North East coast which was also 'dog friendly' however when we arrived at Benthall House it far surpassed our expectations. 

Benthall House was attractively & thoughtfully prepared for Christmas by Sam, the approachable & caring owner.  The accommodation is of a very good standard has a great layout for family/group leisure & fun.  The kitchen/dining/garden room works especially well.  The garden & driveway are very secure for children & dogs. 

Beautiful Beadnell Beach is right on the doorstep & along with other stunning beaches the area offers great restaurants, pubs, cafes & independent shops. 

All in all we enjoyed a wonderful family Christmas at Benthall House.

1 minutes walk to beach. There is a pebbly beach directly opposite the house and further down the road is Beadnell Bay

The Village's harbour lies at the North end of the bay and from there the beach, backed by huge dunes of sand, stretches South for miles.

Beadnell is well known for water sports and there are many activities centres available.

Further along the coast you will find the bustling town of Seahouses and the fabulous beaches of Bamburgh and Ross Sands


The nearest airport is Newcastle international, which is located approximately

45 miles to the South

By road the House is approximately 6 miles from the A1 and approximately 50 miles North of Newcastle.


Beadnell Village and Bay is an approx 1 minute walk

Seahouses is 2 miles along the coastal route

The Farne Islands are based off the Northumberland Coastline and are accessible by boat trips from Seahouses

Bamburgh is 5 miles along the coastal route

The Historic town of Alnwick is 13 miles and the border town of Berwick upon Tweed is 23 miles

Further Details:

Beadnell village has two pubs which serve good food and allow dogs. There is also a fish and chip shop and a small village shop for your supplies. Further along to the busier Seahouses town there are many cafes, bars and restaurants. Seahouses also has a large Co-op supermarket. Your nearest Sainsburys is in Alnwick located just off the A1.

There are many activity centres around the Northumberland area which offer all types of water sports such as sea kayaking, kite surfing, paddle boarding and coast steering etc.

Many of the larger supermarkets such as Asda and Sainsburys deliver to the house and the postcode is NE67 5JQ

We can also organise in house catering for special events, welcome meals etc
