A great find
Stayed at the studio for three days and found it perfect for our needs. It's attached to the old rectory directly opposite the church in the beautiful and well kept village of Shirenewton, within short distances from Chepstow,Tintern and some fine Monmouth shire countryside. The owner,Sarah, was welcoming and lives in the adjoining house, but we had no cause to trouble her as the studio had everything we needed, cosily furnished with very modern kitchen and bathroom, which are well equipped. The bedroom is on a mezzanine floor above, quite small but very adequate and surprisingly comfortable. We would definitely recommend and will stay again when visiting relatives nearby, a great find with a decent pub and restaurant only a couple of hundred yards away
Well presented studio / charming village
Only have good things to say about this property. Warm personal greeting. Used studio for base on long weekend away. Great for local walks, visiting roman sites and castles and exploring the Wye valley. Will definitely recommend to friends and repeat visits.
A very pleasant and spacious place to enjoy exploring this extremely beautiful and extensive area of South Wales.

Spectacular studio in brilliant Welsh countryside
Beautiful self contained studio, well furnished and decorated, comfortable bed; wine, roses and welsh cakes awaiting us; lovely village in exceptionally beautiful countryside.
Thank you for the very kind review, we are delighted you had such a nice time staying with us and hope to welcome you again. Sarah
Beautiful cosy cottage for two
Our second stay at this very well equipped and cosy cottage. The Tredegar Arms is very close to the cottage for very good meals and gin! Enjoyed a variety of day trips and would highly recommend Cardiff Bay and Dewstow Gardens - thank you for a great stay. Welcome pack of wine and Welsh Cakes is perfect too.
It as lovely to welcome you again and thanks for your kind review, we hope to see you again soon! Sarah

The pretty stone-built village of Shirenewton is a excellent centre for exploring the Wye and Usk valleys, the Brecon Beacons and the Forest of Dean.
Although we are only 5 miles from the Severn Bridge (with fantastic access to Bristol and Cardiff) you will find that we are well and truly in the country with the advantages of a thriving village with 3 pubs (including a gastro pub less than 50 metres walk away and another that serves very good home-cooked food).
Keen walkers will find several easy walks mapped from the house and we have equipped The Studio with maps and guides books to the surrounding area. Cyclists will find the area very rewarding, both for road cycling and mountain biking in nearby Wentwood.
Golfers will find the famous St Pierre course 5 miles away and the 2010 Ryder Cup venue Celtic Manor 11 miles away. Chepstow Racecourse is less than 4 miles away. If you love castles you will also love Monmouthshire!
There is a lot more information on the village and the surrounding area available on the Shirenewton Village website.
There is also some fantastic information about the local coastal area, including walks information, at this website:
