About Jane Hegarty

I live on site with my partner and we both run the care farm. We have two dogs and five cats that share our home. Not to mention all the other animals that would be more than happy to come and live indoors, including Milly one of our sheep we bottle fed a few years back.

We are both passionate about what we do and really enjoy life on the farm. After a long day on the farm we enjoy a good meal and a glass of wine.

Jane Hegarty purchased this cottage in 2014

Why Jane Hegarty chose Suffolk

I have lived and worked in Suffolk for many years and we bought the farm and holiday cottage in July. We love the area and the people and it also allowed us to expand our care farm, offering more people the opportunity to benefit from being around the animals and in the fresh air. Although in the middle of the stunning Suffolk countryside it is within easy reach of Framlingham, Eye, Diss and Ipswich. Not to mention the fact it's only a half hour drive to some of the best coastal resorts in the county.

The location is second to none in Suffolk and truly does have some of the most spectacular views. The sunsets from the holiday cottage have to be seen to be believed.

What makes this cottage unique

I am lucky enough to live on site in another cottage that also started life as a holiday let. I have the very best of both worlds, work is literally on my doorstep....great for keeping an eye on all the animals and I feel like I'm on holiday all the time.

Whilst self contained the holiday cottage is linked to the rest of the farm and guests can enjoy getting up close and personal with the farm animals. You can also purchase our free range eggs, home grown meat and vegetables....take your pick from bacon, sausages and pork from rare breed pigs, the best beef from Red Poll cattle or our fabulous lamb.

Perfect short break away with the dogs

  • 4 of 5

It was so nice to find somewhere close but not too close to where my sister lives in Woodbridge.

The cottage was clean, well equipped but not too fussy that we felt on edge having the dogs with us.

Lovely peaceful countryside with plenty of walks for the dogs and yet close enough for a drive to the beach too.

The owners were extremely helpful on our arrival and then left us in peace to enjoy our stay.

We shall be back!

Unique experience!

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful weekend staying at Blueberry Cottage. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped with the luxury of a hot tub! What made the stay for us was being on the farm and being able to get so close to the animals. Our kids loved it! The owners are so welcoming and made our visit very special. We would recommend and will definitely return.

Fantastic stay

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely place to stay with friendly helpful staff who are happy to chat and talk about the animals. A beautiful location ideal for anyone needing some peace and quiet with amazing views. Ideal for Walkers, Artists, Photographers and animal lovers. We met the animals and bottle fed the lambs.

Blueberry Cottage is warm and comfortable with everything you need.

We are already looking at dates to go again!
