The cottage is brand new, situated in a top location in the park, the garden connected to open water. Modern and stylish furniture, luxury bathrooms and fully equipped open kitchen. Free Wi-fi. Location is within half hour drive from Amsterdam, Alkmaar and the Dutch beaches. Bikes and boats for rent at the complex. Good central facilities for children include playground, play fields, swimming pools and a small beach.
We are a Dutch family living abroad since 2009. We had this house built in 2014 to spend our holidays near our Dutch family and friends. We love staying here as it is so peaceful and beautiful and it really feels like home to us.
Anneloes Degen purchased this cottage in 2013
We love the area as it is so green and quiet and still you are very close to towns like Hoorn and Alkmaar and the city of Amsterdam.
We have a lovely garden with a lot of privacy and beautiful views. Fishing from the deck in the early morning, bike to the nearby village to get fresh bread, the kids walking to the pool themselves and us enjoying a drink in the evening sun, that is why we like staying here.
Inside the cottage there is a lot to enjoy as well, a cosy sitting are, open plan kitchen, spacious bedrooms and two luxury bathrooms.
My family and I stayed for 1 week in the cottage at Villapark de rijp and found it to be an excellent holiday. The cottage was well equipped and beautifully furnished, it was also in beautiful surroundings with canal at back door with plenty of wildlife around including ducks and swans. My husband and son enjoyed fishing from the back garden. The park itself had a variety of activities on offer but the real beauty was the surrounding countryside and villages that were easily accessible by bike, walking or car. It's only a short train journey from busy city of Amsterdam. 5 star all the way from me and my family. Hoping to return next year.
This was our first time to Holland and we looked to stay somewhere where we could visit Amsterdam but also provide opportunities to walk +fish and cycle/ swim with the children that had good internet access. The location of the property 'ticked all the boxes' ; the house is one of the best in terms of its location with in the park and indeed has its own landing from which to fish. The property was clean, spacious and well maintained. and all the bedrooms were of a good size although the stairs are steep. The internet access was good at all times and provided entertaiment for the children.
There are shops nearby to buy provisions and loads of cycle paths everywhere as well as the Nth Holland Canal three hundred metres away where small boats can be hired. There is restaurant/bar on site which never seemed crowed and small shop that sells basic provisions. There are good train links into Amersterdam from the nearby trian station where the station car park is free !!
I was apprehensive about the journey from Calais but found the roads well marked and lots of service areas in which to stop and refresh.
The park reception staff were most helpful and we would visit again and certainly recommend to wider family / friends. The owners were most helpful and always responsed quickly to any queries.
Beautiful cottage, lovely and clean, so well presented, felt very at home. The location and surroundings were exceptionally relaxing with lovely views of the canal and countryside.
The cottage was modern with good facilities for self catering and included a hob, fridge with small freezer and microwave oven. The beds were comfortable and it was very easy to sleep as the cottage has blackout blinds/curtains which meant we could get a good nights sleep.
The park itself is very clean as everything is new. The swimming pool is lovely but is small, we were there when it was quiet but if it was busy there wouldn't be lots of room. The play area is great for children and there is also a small petting area with goats.
Reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful, in fact everyone was so friendly. The waitress in the restaurant on site translated the entire menu for us as everything is in dutch (which is fine) but everyone speaks excellent English so it is not a problem, she was brilliant helping us decide on what to have. I have to say that the staff were all very friendly and I couldn't fault a thing.
De Rijp is lovely and has an excellent supermarket which was good value for money and has everything we needed. All staff spoke English and again were very helpful. We didn't have time to eat out but we were recommended a restaurant to try in De Rijp by the receptionist.
We went to Amsterdam for the day on the train it was about a 35 minute journey, really easy and not too expensive. Amsterdam was really enjoyable we did a free three hour tour around the city which was very useful and fun. Too much to see in one day, so we will be returning.
The property exceeded my expectations and the owners have provided lots of useful information and have been exceptionally helpful. We will 100% be returning we loved everything about the cottage and the site and we cant wait to stay again.
