Apartment in Salcombe, South Devon - 10 mins Walk To The Heart Of Salcombe And Less Than Five To The Beach At North Sands

Giving you one of the best views in Salcombe from its decking, our wonderful family retreat has given us a foot-hold in the beautiful South Hams for over 30 years. We recently gave it a complete makeover and now it has all the style and comfort you'd want, while still feeling welcoming for children still salty from the beach. The apartment occupies the seaward corner of a large Victorian villa set in lawned gardens sloping down towards the bay. Even though it's an apartment it's still quite private and you don't feel you're overlooked by other visitors. All three bedrooms have garden or sea views and the master bedroom opens on to the extensive decking. The decor is cool without being pretentious and you'll feel relaxed the moment you step through the door.

  • Family bathroom has a bath with shower over. There's a loo in there too. The other bathroom is just as nice though a little more cozy and has the same bath, shower and loo layout.

  • Description of sleeping capacity: Sleeps 6 (3 Bedrooms) Notes on bedrooms: Bedroom 1 has a king size bed, fabulous sea views and opens on to the decking. Bedroom 2 has a double bed and large windows overlooking the garden. Bedroom 3 has two funky wooden bunks that any children up to young teenagers would be happy in.

Notes on accommodation: Outside: The decking is great. Clean and modern with the most amazing sea views. You can easily sit eight around the table for lunch or dinner and there's still enough room for children to do their own thing without disturbing everyone. The railings on one side are a little low so care should be taken with young children. Cushions,buckets and spades, cricket set etc in the shed. There are lawns and planted borders below on the sea side. It's great for younger children to play on but too slopey to play football (which many might think is a good thing!). Parking is up above the house out of the way in one allocated space. There is plenty of parking on Sandhills Road for additional cars. Towels / Linen:You'll need to bring your own linen and towels. If you would like to hire linen then we can recommend somewhere and also make up the beds for a small charge. Other: There is a trundle bed that you can pull out from under the lower bunk, which would be fine for an extra child to sleep on, but would make the room a bit snug.

Stayed 5 nights in late June with my elderly mother who needs accommodation on one level and very much appreciated the lovely open views - which delighted us all, despite the very mixed weather. The flat is fitted out and kitted out to a very high standard,Sophie Patterson was a delight to deal with and the whole experience entirely lived up to expectations.

You won't be disappointed!

Stayed here with a group of friends for our annual reunion and it proved to be an inspired choice. A beautifully situated apartment with stunning views both out to sea and onto beautiful woodland from the spacious decking area and the huge wraparound windows. Apartment is extremely spacious, master bedroom opens onto the decking and it's a treat waking up in there. Lounge area is really comfortable and the whole place is very well equipped. Salcombe is a cool, classy little place, beaches at North & South Sands are a few minutes away (we went kayaking, which I'd recommend) and the town centre is about 15 mins in the other direction where there is a decent selection places to eat & pubs. Also drove to Hope Cove about 15 mins away which is also worth a visit with two good pubs & eateries. All in all it was a great place to both stay for our long weekend. My friends were extremely complimentary on my choice of location and accommodation! The owner Sophie's communications and recommendations were excellent and I'd certainly visit here again. I'm just jealous I don't own the apartment myself! Many thanks for a memorable stay.

Well equipped & decorated with wonderful view

We visited in April so did not use terrace but can imagine this would be a wonderful place to relax & eat in warm weather. The view from the property of the mouth of Salcombe estuary is stunning, and the flat is spacious and sunny.

5 minutes walk down to North Sands beach with the ever-popular Winking Prawn beach side restaurant.

South Milton Sands 10 minutes drive. Eat at the Beach House for great seafood.

10 minute walk to the Salcombe ferry to take you across to East Portlemouth and the delightful, sheltered sunny beaches opposite the town.
