A charming three-bedroom early Victorian house in a quiet attractive terrace overlooking the water. The house has two double bedrooms and two bathrooms on the first floor and a triple bedroom on the top floor and a large living - dining area and kitchen on the ground floor. There is a small outside sitting space at the back of the house and space to sit or park your car at the front of the house. The house is a short walk to the town centre and to the town beaches.

About Anne and John Coghlan

We fell in love with Fowey after a weekend visit in 2001. When exploring Fowey we walked along Harbour View and dreamed of someday owning a house there. As you do, we came home and searched estate agents and 3 Harbour View was for sale but under offer. Some things are meant to be. That offer fell through and the rest is history.

3 Harbour View is the perfect holiday house for our family. We love coming down to Fowey and never tire of the view of the harbour. We have 3 children who are now in their late teens and who have loved growing up with regular holidays here.

We have rented out the house since we bought it via various agencies but joined Owners Direct in 2014.

We love Fowey. It is a town that has a great atmosphere regardless of the season. There is always a lot to do, even if it is just sitting in the window watching the world go by! Fowey has great food shops and the walking in the area is fabulous. We often come down to Fowey and don't move our car for a week.

Notes on accommodation: We accept bookings of any length however, please note that any stay for a duration of less than 5 days will be charged at 5/7ths of the weekly price. We are sorry, but please note that we do not accept pets in the house. Outside: There is a private parking space in front of the house, which can also be used for sitting out, with spectacular harbour views. There is also an attractive tiny courtyard to the rear of the property, which catches the afternoon sun. A mobile barbecue and foldaway garden table and chairs are available. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen included. The property is cleaned and linen changed once a week.

We were a party of six adults staying in Fowey for three nights. The house was spacious enough to accommodate us all very comfortably. The open plan area downstairs was great for communal living. The kitchen was was extremely well equipped and big enough for two or three people to use at the same time. The bedrooms were all ideal, lovely linen on the beds (which is quite important in our view) and quality towels were provided. Two large bathrooms meant that no one was ever waiting for ablutions or evacuations! The house was extremely clean and the welcome bottle of wine provided was a really nice gesture. The information and directions that Anne provided were detailed and thorough aiding a smooth arrival. The car park space outside is handy although I should mention ( as have others) the very narrow road that leads up to the house...if you're in a van don't try it ( I left mine in the main car park) but for a car and a competent driver it's no problem. The house has a beautiful view of the harbour and everything in Fowey that you need to experience is in walking distance. This house was ideal for a wonderful stay in Fowey.

This cottage is the best.absolutely fully equipped,spotlessly clean and right in the middle of Fowey.I Have a Mini Cooper and parked at the cottage.I may not have tried it in a really large car although other cars seemed to manage ok.I have stayed in several Cornish cottages but this one is number one.

Wonderful house. Beautiful setting.

Location wonderful...the view across the river is amazing. We'll equipped, clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was there and communication with the owners was easy from booking to leaving. We have recommended This house to our friends and will definitely be returning. Celebrating our daughters 30th in Fowey was full of lovely memories.

Lovely well equipped cottage with good views

The cottage is very comfortable with a modern interior. The kitchen is well equipped and has all the essentials of home.

The beds are comfortable and there is a bathroom and a shower room on the 1st floor. TV, wifi and bluetooth speaker have good reception/connection.

There are great views from the windows of the River Fowey and Polruan on the other side.

The village is good to walk around and the people are friendly. You can get the foot ferry to Polruan for a couple of pounds and walk up to the top and follow the coastal path on that side of the water.

It was a very relaxed Christmas just what was required.

Wonderful position!

My husband & i & our four teenage sons stayed at Harbour View for a few days over half-term.

Contact with Anne, the owner, prior to the visit, was always efficient & friendly & all instructions were clear & helpful.

Anne had warned us that the road up to the cottage was very narrow but my husband under-estimated just how narrow & took our mini-van (borrowed for the occasion) up this tiny lane. Needless to say he regretted it & there then ensued a nerve-wracking half hour or so while he attempted to get the van to the cottage without taking out any of the neighbouring houses especially the one on the bend..the poor elderly lady who lived there watching on nervously!!! I had to get out & direct, it was a stressful & anxious start to the holiday (at one point i did think he was going to get wedged) & the fabulous view from the cottage's vantage point didnt even register. My husband was humbled...Anne had warned us...needless to say once we had unloaded & managed to get safely back out of the lane we left the van parked up at the nearby car-park for the rest of the stay!! Heed Anne..if you are in a large vehicle DO NOT attempt to drive up to the cottage!

Drama over, the cottage was characterful & welcoming, clean & warm. We had been left a Welcome Pack of teabags, milk, biscuits & wine (much needed after the lane escapade) which was a nice gesture,especially as we had forgotten to bring our own teabags. The cottage was well-equipped, i cant think of one thing it didnt have, a cliched term maybe but it really was a home from home. What makes Harbour View stand out however is its position & the glorious views across the estuary. The front bedroom has two chairs & a little table positioned in the bay window perfect for a morning cuppa while you sit & just take it all in.

I could have sat there for ages watching the boats trundle across.

Fowey was picture postcard stuff & our too-brief visit was thoroughly enjoyed. My husband & i intend to return for longer one day..minus the kids & the van!

There is a small quiet sandy beach just 500 yards away (Whitehouse beach - covered at high tide), and a larger sandy beach with diving platform at Readymoney, about a 15 minute walk away. You can join the coastal path west to Polkerris, or take the ferry across to Polruan and take the coast path east towards Polperro and Looe, via the beautiful unspoilt beach at Lantic bay. Also try the 'Hall Walk' all around Fowey's beautiful natural harbour and Pont Pill estuary.


Par railway station is 3 miles away, with buses and taxis to Fowey. It is possible to enjoy Fowey without ever using your car, as all you need is available just a short walk away.


The Eden Project is just 7 miles away. There are National Trust properties a short drive away, such as Lanhydrock house, and the lost gardens of Heligan. Watersports (sailing, windsurfing, paddle boarding) are available at Polkerris with large beach and pub/restaurants, which is a 10 minute drive away, or a lovely 90 minute walk on the Saints way.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Friday, with arrival after 4.00pm and departure by 10.00am. The Friday changeover means that you can avoid the busiest travelling days in peak season.
