Welcome to the 'No 1 The Old Coach House' situated in a convenient and central location in Ambleside village. A contemporary and stylish 4 STAR GOLD English Tourist Board (Visit Britain) accredited accommodation with all the ' mod cons ' you will need for a very comfortable stay. In January 2014 we finished a complete and careful renovation and are now delighted to be able to offer this quite special village centre property. Ambleside village itself is on your doorstep and there is no need to use your car to take advantage of all it has to offer. An abundance of walks can be taken straight from the door. Cruises and watersports on Lake Windermere are only a 10 ,minute walk away, as well as all the amenities of the village itself with shopping, restaurants, pubs and a cinema/jazz bar right on your doorstep.

Owners Direct are now adding a booking fee which is out of our control, our cottage is also available on holiday lettings/trip advisor without this fee, property number is 5300003.

Great property. Central location. Perfect.

Just finished a fantastic week away in Ambleside. The property is in a great location. Short walk in to town, as well as only being a 15 minute walk to the ferry. Very modern inside with everything you need. Exactly what my wife, 2 year old son and I were looking for. Having a parking space in such a prime location is a major plus, however be warned the space is quite tight if you have a particularly large vehicle. We have a Nissan Qashqai which just fit. Would definitely stay here again in the future and would have no hesitation at all in recommending this lovely property to anyone.

Well finished property.

Very high standard of finish but a few niggles. Tiny parking spaces and the property is right on a main road. The heating is difficult to control except by turning the boiler off as it gets too hot. The shower/wet room needs a curtain or screen as the whole bathroom gets soaked which is annoying. The rear bedroom has no ventilation once you close the blind in the roof which makes it very hot, don't know how you could sleep in the summer. Traffic noise is annoying and the bedroom doors rattle every time a car goes past. Lighting in the living room is definitely a case of form over function, either spotlights which blind you or a light fitting with 8 bulbs, needs a rethink. Problems parking when someone turned up in next door property and you couldn't even get into both cars.

A bit noisy

Accomodation excellent and being close to town centre saved on parking charges. Main problem is being located on a busy one way main road (and bus route) and bedroom on back edge of carriageway not good for sleeping. We live in a very quiet rural area and noticed the traffic noise. No garden or sitting out space

beautiful cottage has everything you could need but I do not think we will as the price has gone up from £625 to £ 797 for same week next year

Modern, stylish yet homely.

Great little property with plenty of character both old and modern. Storage space is surprisingly plentiful and we never felt cramped or untidy. Beds were comfortable. Great location for Ambleside centre, walks and the rest of the Lakes. We will be back, unless I can convince my wife to move to The Lakes!

Pretty cottage, well designed and equipped - shame about the main road outside!

The cottage is really beautifully designed and laid out. Gorgeous features like mood lighting and heated underfloors. Lovely large, open plan kitchen/diner lounge and quirky bedroom with not a right angle in sight. Lovely wet room to scrape the mud off from a long day out in the hills. The only down side was the main road outside when it's really warm at night and you need to have the windows open.

Great to be able to cook properly there too!
