Newly refurbished stone Cottages in Hathersage.
Lovely location right opposite a main walking trail heading across the stunning countryside of Derbyshire. Hathersage village centre is a short walk from the house along a quiet back road. The house is built to a very high spec and well taken care of, the owner is professional builder, and a typical hard working Yorkshireman, he has put his heart and passion into the house, and it has been wonderfully decorated by his wife. Nothing lacking in the house, and we were helped to access all the gorgeous places by the owners with fantastic local knowledge. I have lived in Hong Kong 20 years, own a large biz and stay in some very ritzy hotels and locations around the World in over 89 countries, and can safely say this place is superb for comfort, and stunning countryside. Do not get put off by the road, not noticeable as house fitted with great double glazing. Close to Chattesworth, Hassop Hall, Castleton, Hope, a great ice cream making farm next door made from the cows on the farm, historic castles, and much more. Picking the owners brains when here for local knowledge is much better than any tourist info company, just lovely local people.
This is a newly converted building, this has been done to a high standard which was very comfortable, warm and well equipped. Well located for walks and cycling in the Dark Peak. We had a most enjoyable stay and the kids loved the walks which started by crossing the river near to the cottage by using the stepping stones. Used the Mill Stone Pub in Hathersage for Sunday carvery ,this was most enjoyable.
