Our delightfully refurbished Welsh stone cart shed, Tilley's Cottage, provides very comfortable accommodation to the visit wales Four Star standard. Set in a peaceful rural location, the Cottage enjoys stunning sea & countryside views and spectacular sunsets. There are breathtaking countryside and coastal walks on your doorstep, as well as quick and easy access to two beautiful beaches. The area around Tilley's Cottage is a stunning mix of countryside and coastline. Access to the coast path is a mile away. The coastal walkers' bus service (from right outside the cottage gate) can be used to get to a start point and walk back without you having to use your car. There are two good pubs within half an hours walk from the cottage - The Sloop at Porthgain and The Ship Inn at Trefin. Porthgain is a pretty harbour village - once a thriving industrial area, it now has two interesting art galleries and an award-winning restaurant (as well as the pub). Two miles from Tilley's is Abereiddy beach - with toilet facilities, free parking and a refreshments van selling locally produced food (open Easter to October half term). Right next to Abereiddy is the famous 'blue lagoon' where the Red Bull British Cliff Diving Championships were held in 2012 & 2013. St Davids with its magnificent cathedral, tourist information centre and a range of good quality cafes, pubs and restaurants is a fifteen minute drive away. Whitesands beach near St David's and Newgale beach are also popular choices for visitors - these have all facilities and are both great for surfing.
When we moved here from the New Forest, the cottage had already been renovated and was being run as a holiday let. We were very pleased that this beautiful holiday cottage was part of our property and over the years we have gradually made various changes and improvements to make it more of a home from home. It is regularly used by friends and family who enjoy visiting the area, as well as providing tourist accommodation.
Ruth Woodage purchased this cottage in 2006
We loved the wild nature of the North Pembrokeshire coast. It feels remote here - yet after a few minutes in the car you can be at a pub, restaurant, cafe or gallery. The choice of walks is amazing - coastal, countryside or woodland - they are all on the doorstep!
Tilley's Cottage has loads of character, with the thick stone walls keeping it cool in summer and cosy in winter; and whatever time of year you stay, if it's clear enough for a sunset - you won't miss it!

"Beautiful holiday cottage"
My husband & I stayed in Tilley's cottage during the first week in June along with our son, daughter in law and small granddaughter, not to mention our two Labradors! We all had a really lovely time. Yes, the cottage is a little on the small side but there is absolutely everything there that you could possibly need. The place is immaculately clean, cosy & also child friendly. The bathroom is beautiful & we all enjoyed long hot showers after our days on the nearby beaches. The garden is well laid out and enclosed which makes it safe for both children and dogs. The sunsets that can be seen on a clear day are just stunning. We enjoyed just sitting on the patio and watching them. Ruth (the owner) was on site next door and available whenever we needed any advice or recommendations. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We also loved meeting Maddie their family Labrador. Her little nose pushing under the fence hoping for a treat whenever she heard us around ! We were all sad to leave this lovely place when the time came to go home & I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a little piece of heaven.
"Tilley's Still the Best"
This is our 2nd stay at Tilley's and it was even better than last year with the addition of wi-fi.
Everything about this cottage is first class a real home from home. We are already planning our return next year.
"This is a beautiful cottage."
We stayed in this cottage for a long weekend this July. We were lucky with the weather, while the rest of the country had to contend with heavy rain we ate supper in the garden and watched the sunset over the sea. The accommodation was spotlessly clean – this is one of our things and is usually the first thing we notice. It was well equipped and very comfortable. The owner, Ruth, was welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. A short walk from the cottage takes you onto the coastal path with stunning views in every direction. We couldn't recommend this place highly enough and only wished we could have stayed longer.
Great place to base a coastal walking holiday or weekend.
Ruth was very accommodating and helpful. Pleasant welcoming bottle of wine and Welsh cakes. Cosy woodturner. Comfortable rooms and very good shower. Kitchen small but well appointed. We would definitely return.
An absolutely beautiful cottage. My family and I had a wonderful stay here. The only downside was our stay weren't long enough. We would highly recommend this cottage and can't wait to visit again.
Beautiful cottage, in a stunning location owned by a very helpful and friendly couple. Thank you for our stay.
