About Sarah Hellis

My husband and I purchased this cottage in the autumn of 2013. We had spent many a holiday here ourselves whilst my husband’s parents owned it. They owned it for twelve years and used it as a second home. We loved roaming the beaches, nipping into Narberth on Saturday mornings and enjoying the cottage garden in the summer months. Our daughter enjoyed visiting the fun days out which are in short reach of the cottage.

Following Quentin's parents decision to sell, we took the opportunity to take on the property ourselves. We wanted to continue to enjoy the beautiful cottage and garden, whilst also making it affordable by combining it as a holiday let.

So as you can see, the cottage has been part of our lives for some time and is very special to us.

Sarah Hellis purchased this cottage in 2013

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage is a pleasure to stay at during all seasons; cosy and snug in the winter and a beautiful garden to enjoy in the summer.

It is conveniently placed close to many of Pembrokeshire's main attractions (Folly farm, Bluestone, Heatherton), plus beaches are within 15 minutes. Narberth at 5 minutes drive is great for stocking up on supplies and being a market town means there are plenty of reasons to spend some time looking in shops or having a bite to eat.

Cozy Cottage

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely week staying at Manchester House, exploring new and visiting our favourite places in Pembrokeshire. Despite a couple of rainy days the weather was as expected for the time of year! The cottage was comfortable and warm; the log burner was most welcome on the rainy day as we had got quite wet and needed to dry out! It is in an ideal location for exploring the county, being within easy reach of the A40 and A477.

Homely stay with great garden!

  • 4 of 5

Manchester House is comfortable and homely with many great touches such as the Summer house for summer days and the log burner for cold ones! The bedrooms are good with comfy beds and plenty storage. The house is located in a pleasant village within easy reach of many great attractions. We particularly enjoyed Tenby, Solva, White sands and Folly Farm, all less than 45 minutes away. The countryside and coastline around Pembrokeshire are beautiful, making for a relaxing holiday all round.

This property would have earned 5 stars if the bathroom had been a little more modern. We arrived late evening and the cottage is a few miles from amenities- a pint of milk to allow us to make much needed drink would have been a great extra touch. Only small niggles though.

Very peaceful and relaxing stay

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is exactly as described. Very warm and comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need to make it a real home from home. Immaculately clean, great beds and the whole cottage is spacious and welcoming.

We particularly appreciated the provision of logs , kindling and fire lighters for the wood burner. It's rare to get anything more than a small 'starter pack' in self-catering accommodation.

The garden is great and must be really lovely in the summer. The cottage is genuinely dog-friendly: no notices telling you where your dog can and can't go. Clear instructions for the heating etc, which worked very efficiently.

The village is very quiet, but within easy reach of Narberth: interesting shops, especially for antiques and vintage fans, and the beaches around the region are just the best anywhere.

We would definitely come to Manchester House again and recommend it to anyone looking for peace and comfort, especially if you have a dog.

Lovely stay in a perfect cottage.

  • 5 of 5

Quentin and Sarah.

Thank you.

We had a lovely time in your gorgeous cottage. Everything was exactly as you had described, in fact, even better. The location is perfect, the setting idyllic and the cottage a real 'home-from home',

Our stay was very short but from the moment we walked through the door we felt at ease and very comfortable in the homely surroundings.

The kitchen is very well stocked and made cooking a breeze. I loved being able to cook and watch the TV at the same time (or does that make me a bit sad?).

Your sitting room is lovely. Warm and cosy, especially with the log burner blazing away on a chilly evening. We really loved all the cushions and throws provided, especially the sheep! Fantastic. The fact you had tasteful Christmas decorations up too was a really lovely touch and something we weren't expecting.

As for the rest of the house, to be honest words can't begin to describe how lovely it is. There is so much room upstairs, the beds are really comfortable and there is masses of storage space.

The garden is lovely too and we can't wait to see it again next year and look forward to spending warm evenings lazing around the summerhouse. The dog loved running around and exploring in your garden too.

It is sometimes a worry when you book places on-line but you made everything so straight forward. The instructions you provided were letter perfect and everything we could have needed for our break was there. You should be very proud of the service you provide. We really, really loved our stay.

Thanks for making our break such a delight.

I can highly recommend your cottage and the area to any and everyone. We have already send pictures and glowing reports to our friends and family.

Henry

The cottage is lovely with everything you might need and has been sympathetically updated by Sarah and Quentin. There is a pretty and safe garden and the village is nice and quiet. The cottage is well equipped and warm and nicely furnished. Lots of useful basic things - milk, condiments etc. Remember to take a hairdryer if you need one - there isn't one in the cottage. Comfy beds and nice bed linen. I am sure we will be back to see more of this beautiful area. The weather was lovely while we were there- on the beach both days. Frances and John Woodhead

Cosy and clean cottage perfect for families

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was as advertised, a lovely cosy place for us to stay as a family. The rooms were tidy and big enough to sleep 6 people and the kitchen well equipped. We would definitely recommend and wouldn't hesitate to stay in the future.
