House in Florence, Tuscany, Italy - On The Hills Overlooking Florence And Fiesole, 15 Minutes To The City Centre By Bus Or 20m By Car
La Piazzetta is part of a magnificent villa built in the second half of the XVII century in the hills between Florence and Fiesole. In the 1970s it underwent a complete restructuring and is now a totally independent and charming house with its own entrance, terrace, garden and pool. Five years ago it underwent another complete refurbishing. It has central heating, air conditioning, wifi and satellite TV connection. The living room, terrace and pool command breath-taking views of Fiesole and Florence from the Duomo to the hills of Impruneta. The house sits in a garden of olive trees and cypresses and from May to October you can enjoy all fresco dining in the terrace overlooking this beautiful panorama. The city center (Piazza della liberta) is 15 minutes away (6.4 Km) by car or 20 Minutes by bus. The bus stop is 800 meters from the house. This stunning location allows you to visit the busy city centre and its art treasures and twenty minutes later retreat to this peaceful garden to enjoy the pool amongst the olive trees. The house itself is on two levels. On the first floor there is a living room, 2 bedrooms with a double bed each and a bathroom with a shower. Downstairs, a big kitchen with a table and six chairs can double as a dining room. There is also a bedroom and a bathroom with a bath tub as well as a separate laundry space. Outside a terrace will welcome you with a table and chairs for six. In the garden, the pool and sun deck amongst olive trees is equipped with umbrella and lounge chairs. We recommend that you have the house cleaned once a week and the bed linen changed. We can also arrange for private visits to Florence with professional guides expert in the history of art of this beautiful city.

About Fabrizia Fries
Hello, we are a Italian and French couple, living in Brussels and enjoying Florence as much as we can. We would like to share this beautiful city with you too. Fabrizia and Fabrice
Fabrizia Fries purchased this House in 2008
Why Fabrizia Fries chose Campo di Marte (Quartiere 2)
This is a family house we are very happy to go back to. In 2008 we had it completly refurbished to make sure it was confortable and cosy for our family.
What makes this House unique
A stay in Tuscany can be unforgettable. The best works of art from the renaissance period and beyond, the food, the weather and above all the people of this city are the ingredients for a memorable stay. Our house is small enough to be manageable but spacious enough to cater for 6 people comfortably. The garden is big. And the pool and terrace which you have all for yourselves will allow you to rest and enjoy the weather after a busy day visiting the sights. From here you can easily drive around Tuscany and return for the evening. We hope you enjoy it as much as you do.

Peace and quite in the outskirts of the city. Great stay
The house is as described but the photos don't capture the amazing views! There is a sense of being suspended when you are out in the terrace. The pool area is brand new and we really enjoyed soaking up the Tuscan sun overlooking great beauty. The house itself is relatively compact but as we were not looking for a grand villa, it was just right. We were greeted by the charming Rosalba who was very helpful and friendly. We look forward to returning
Beautiful stay & more
We spent a lovely week in this charming house! The views are indeed breathtaking as advertised but the plus side is the welcome of Rosalia who manages the property for the owners and the cosy decoration in the house.
The bedrooms are not large but very well arranged with plenty of storage space. Downstairs is a green and orange kitchen where we had breakfast in the morning. It is fully equipped and functional. Both bathrooms are also new and functional
As the weather was excellent we spent most of the time dining out in the amazing front terrace, overlooking the Florentine hills with a 360° view from the Duomo to Fiesole. The pool was a bit chilly the first days but warmed up later. It is stunning as it sits amidst an olive grove and has top of the range lounging chairs.
We also benefitted from great help from the owners. Fabrizia gave me great tips and help organise a cultural excursion around Florence. Walking to the bus stop will take you a good 10 minutes (uphill on the way back) but the views are so great that you feel completely emerged in the Tuscan experience
Definately a great place for your holiday. We'll be back
Stunning views is where the good experience ends
The views from this house are stunning. The owner, Fabrizia and the lady who greets you on arrival, Rosalba in particular, are very helpful and friendly. However, the house disappoints on many levels. Air-conditioning amounts to one unit in the lounge area - two bedrooms with noisy rolling doors, directly off the lounge have to share this air-conditioning by leaving the doors to the lounge area open. One bedroom benefits, the other does not. The kitchen, 2nd bathroom and 3rd bedroom are in what can only be called a basement - which is dark, damp and very badly ventillated with extremely uncomfortable, narrow beds. The photograph of the 2nd bathroom does not tell a true story. The pool is also not private - we came back from a trip to find it being used. The property was not as clean as it should have been. Not enough information on where to find shops, nearby restaurants etc., since the villa is quite a long way out of Florence on narrow country roads. A very disappointing experience.
I'm very sorry you did not have a good time in Florence. We have been renting our house for ten years now and have never had a negative review, Quite in the contrary, this is why I take your remarks very seriously. The pool is for the guests'exclusive use. On one occasion, in your absence, my aunt took a swim but immediately withdrew on your arrival. I would hope that it would not be too much of an inconvenience. Florence is a very hot city in the summer. Maybe not the best destination if one cannot stand the heat. During your stay, there was a heat wave.Under normal conditions the air conditionning in the living is quite sufficient. I was a bit shocked by your statement concerning the bathroom downstairs. The pictures portray it correctly and you did not mention that there is a new panoramic terrace and pool shed not currently featured in the pictures. I can understand that you did not enjoy your stay but we all expect faireness in the comments posted. Similarly, we often asked you if we could help with additional information which you declined. On this basis itis difficult to complain that there was no tourist information available. I hope you will be happier in your next holiday destination
We just finished a seven-day stay at this house and it was wonderful. The description and photos were accurate, the property was clean and well-maintained and the owner provided tremendous assistance (offered great suggestions for guides and restaurants and we even got a phone call warning us of an impending storm). The house has fabulous views of the city of Florence and the pool is a welcome relief from the summer heat. We found the local bus service was the best way to access the city center but the bus stop was nearby and it was very easy to navigate. We would definitely stay here again!
