This extremely spacious property is in the countryside yet not remote - with a pub close by and shops within a 10/15 minute drive. This area of Pembrokeshire is renowned for its superb coastal paths for walkers. There are many beaches to choose from with surfing, wind carting and other activities such as horse-riding, fishing and golf. There are boat trips to the islands to see the puffins and other seabirds. There is no shortage of places to visit - St Davids with its famous cathedral, delightful fishing villages such as Solva and Littlehampton with a wide choice of pubs and restaurants and Narbeth with its bohemian shops as well as the county town of Haverfordwest with its wide range of shops and supermarkets. The property is ideally suited to a large party and is popular all year around, especially Christmas, New Year and Easter as well as the summer months. The huge sitting room oozes character with exposed beams, natural stone walls and two sitting areas each with an antique woodburning stove as their focal point. The kitchen has cream painted wooden units, a lovely slate floor and a large oak table seating ten with views of the garden and paddocks.The property is wifi enabled. The games room is in the stable block adjacent to the house and contains a table tennis table, sofa and TV as well as a table and chairs so ideal for board games. The paddocks are home to three Shetland ponies, much loved by visiting children. The master bedroom suite has a dressing room and ensuite shower room. It is triple aspect with a full length picture widow commanding views of the paddocks and woodland. Other bedrooms also have views of the paddocks and fields. The cottage garden is well stocked with plants and flowers; it is south facing so gets plenty of sun and is equipped with garden furniture - table and chairs, sun loungers and a barbecue. We welcome well behaved dogs. Additional accommodation is available (converted barns) separately - 2 bedroom barn and 1 bedroom plus sofabed. Sorry, but no smoking indoors.

I have lived in many places including France and Italy and London and my job has taken me to many countries and everywhere has something to offer but I have a deep love of Pembrokeshire. I have spent the last five years doing up the property and it is my home, rather than a holiday property, the place I plan to retire to. I love the location - this area of Pembrokeshire is populated all year, not just by tourists in the holidays. I love the beaches, the fishing villages and the county towns. I also like the fact that it is not remote - that there is a wide choice of shopping both in terms of supermarkets and "interesting shops" to browse...

People say that the property represents a unique sense of space and freedom - enjoying countryside fresh air without having to sacrifice modern amenities and comfort...they also say the location is great, rural and near beaches but also near the market town of Haverfordwest so not isolated with plenty to do if the weather is bad.

Family Holiday Great Get Together!

Our family of 10 arrived from 3 destinations for a family get together. It was lovely to be able to spend time with one another in such superb accommodation.

Everyone had their own delightful bedroom which they chose with no arguments because each bedrrom was so nicely furnished and decorated.

We loved the huge sitting room where we all watched TV, played games and talked without being cramped!

Especially nice was sitting comfortably altogether around the dinning table sharing a evening meal and breakfast. Yet because of the utility room we had plenty of space to store provisions. A well equiped kitchen to. A very warm and comfortable house indeed even in the middle of winter. And a very nice welcome pack of goodies.

Most of us enjoyed table tennis and were quite good at it!

The farmhouse is well situated to visit so many fantastic places. We had a really good value for money meal at The Farmers Arms at Mathry. Supermarkets in Haverfordwest are only a short drive and yet the farmhouse is away from all the hustle and bustle of a busy life. It is a beautiful area and we highly recommend Upper Calffield. .

upper calf field farm. Brilliant!

After a rather stressful wedding we had a wonderful relaxing week with all our family 10,

(from 2 to 70yrs). The farm was so welcoming. we all loved it! Great to have a bedroom each all tastefully decorated and all with their own character. the master bedroom is superb! There is lots of storage room. We really liked the utility room.

the property was clean and well maintained. Plenty of space for all the family at the kitchen table and in the sitting rooms. The games room was popular with the guys playing table tennis. the gardens were lovely. Nice to have hidden bits where members could get away and relax. Its in a fabulous situation looking over the fields, so quiet. The little shetlands were right next door. Its in an excellent position as only 5 mins from Morrisons. everyone we met was very friendly and helpful.

We would definitely come back. It felt like home! We have already recommended it to a friend

Easy to reach beaches once you mastered the roads around Haverfordwest! We loved Littlehaven. Saundersfoot has an excellent Tapas restaurant called North 9 ? On wet days The blue lagoon waterworld came in handy. It was very busy but we all enjoyed it. Locally we walked down to the little hump back bridge and loved swimming there so much we had to go back again.

Fantastic property, location and visit.

We arrived on a dark, rainy and windy night but once in we were immediately warm and cosy. Great place to explore inside and out for the children and adults. All we needed was there for us and the extra touches on arrival were much appreciated. Log fire an extra bonus. We were lucky with the weekend weather and explored Newgale Beach, Whitesands and St Davids all in a short drive. With the rugby world cup semi-finals on the boys in the group were grateful for the friendly pub close-by - not sure it could be much closer even though we were in the middle of no-where! The grounds were lovely, and especially the horses in the fields were great for the children and smooth and talk to (as were the owners who talked to us about them). The games room in the out buildings was fab too. Even the unfortunate power cut on one morning didn't dampen our spirits (although left one of the party a little soapy! The number for Western Power on the fridge meant we could get it dealt with quickly. The owner, Margaret was lovely and helpful from the time of booking to after we left and we'll definitely be booking again soon to explore some more.

Beautiful house in stunning rural location

Our 2 families (4 adults, 5 children) Had a lovely relaxing stay here. We were lucky with the weather and spent the mornings down on Newgale beach (about 15 min drive) or walking the coastal path.

Evenings were spent relaxing by the warm fire, The cottage was well equipped, pretty, clean. And the little extra touches made all the difference.

We would definitely recommend this cottage and hope to return in the hope of exploring the local area further.

Excellent Stay in great location

A family get together of 11 people, 10 in the main house which is spacious enough for all without feeling crammed in, also had the small studio attached to the stable block which was perfect for teenage son with own en-suite shower.

Location is great for getting to many beaches, St Davids etc all within 20 minutes or so. Would definitely recommend Upper Calffield and will book again for our next visit to Wales.

Owner's Response: That's very helpful feedback because I always forget to say that I do have a small studio room with a sofa bed and en-suite shower which can be useful if there are lots of singles in your party. I must point out though that the kitchen table sits 10 not 11.... You were great guests, thanks so much, and I hope you'll be back!

Outside: There is a private cottage garden, paddocks and a field leading to woodland - there are Shetland ponies in the paddock and field. Utility Room: The utility room has a sink unit, washing machine and tumble dryer. It also has plenty of cupboards so ample storage and lots of hooks for coats and jackets. The downstairs shower room is off the utility room. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: We provide bed linen, bath towels and handtowels but no beach towels. The property is cleaned between lets - whether weekly or short breaks.
