Characterful, cosy, well-equipped cottage
We very much enjoyed our short break at Weaver's Cottage - lovely walks in all directions around Rolvenden, and a warm and welcoming home-from-home to come back to. We liked the thoughtful extra touches such as candles already in place for a romantic dinner for two, and the huge supply of logs for the woodburner. The staircase IS very steep, and slightly challenging, but it's part of the character of the place - although it wouldn't suit anyone with any mobility issues. The garden is a delight, obviously much-loved by whoever plants and tends it, and the pretty arbour bench and other seating make it ideal for relaxing or eating in.
There are footpaths in all directions around Rolvenden. We tramped across fields, picnicked in woods full of wildflowers and birdsong and lost ourselves in orchards that seemed to stretch to the horizon.
In the village, hidden away behind the antique shop, is the Motor Museum, a wonderful collection of Morgan three-wheeler cars and other old vehicles and well worth a visit.
Rolvenden has a village shop and post office which offers a surprisingly good selection of groceries including a very good choice of fresh fruit and vegetables, and there is a small deli counter where they will make up a fresh baker's roll with your choice of filling.
Dear recent guests,so glad you all had a good experience whilst staying at my "weaver's Cottage" pleased it ticked most of the boxes for you.Always appreciate the feedback, and is my business to try and keep everybody happy.
A lovely little cottage!
We had a great stay in Alison’s cute cottage. The area was lovely and the cottage had everything we needed for a few days away. The wood-burner was an added bonus and with the cottage being so small it heated up nice and quickly. We appreciated the supplies that Alison left for us, a nice touch. Our only negatives would be the comfort of the double bed and the bathroom being down the steep narrow stairs which made nighttime toilet visits with our 6 year old a bit tricky. Overall though we loved our time there and would definitely recommend staying there. Thanks Alison!
Cosy little cottage well equipped- great !
