Excellent stay in a charming cottage
This is a lovely cottage full of charm. Plenty of space, fitted out very well and with a lovely enclosed courtyard garden. Opposite is the magnificent Blythburgh church which is lit up for a few hours at night. Only a few minutes walk from a lovely pub which serves good food and welcomes dogs in the bar.
Thank you for your review, Blythburgh is a special place and we are delighted to be able to share our cottage with you.
we'll be back
we loved the cottage. Had everything we needed. Warm and cosy cottage. Well equipped kitchen. Nice little garden. Great walks nearby and close enough to Walberswick and Southwold. Local pub hit and miss for food, but nice to be able to walk to the pub and have a drink. We will definitely return and look forward to another week in this holiday home. Thanks Julia!
Thank you for your review,we are delighted that you enjoyed the cottage and Suffolk.
You must try some of the other pubs next time.
Look forward to hearing from you again soon
Delightful stay in beautiful cottage!
Some friends and I booked Chantry cottage for a mini-break from the city and we were not disappointed. The cottage had everything we would ever need and provided the perfect base for a long weekend of rambling about and playing board games. The local pubs sell delicious beer and the fish and chips in Southwold are a must! Will certainly be returning soon, perhaps in the winter when we could get the log burner going! Thanks very much for a lovely stay!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed Suffolk and some of what it has to offer, hope you tried the local beer!
Excellent property, wonderful area, brilliant host
Had a lovely long weekend in this perfect little cottage and would highly recommend it. Cosy, homely and well located, it was the perfect spot for long walks, quiet nights in, and exploring the local area.
The hosting was also excellent, Julia provided us with everything we needed for our stay.
We particularly enjoyed a walk along the coast to Southwark for a trip to the pier and the penny arcades - a great day out!
Thank you for your comments the walk you mention to Southwold is one of our family favourites, perhaps you will stay with us again soon.
Chantry Cottage is just delightful.
We found Chantry cottage to be just perfect. It is located just off the A12, but is in a very quiet and pretty location directly opposite the magnificant church which when floodlit at night is stunning. The cottage itself is charming, beautifully renovated, spotlessly clean and very well equipped.
We particularly liked the layout. If you like the outdoor life the large utility room has a door directly off the lane, so you can bring the dog and your boots in and get cleaned up before entering the main house. The downstairs single bedroom has an en-suite bathroom so would be ideal for an elderly relative or a grown up child who wants their privacy. There are lots of footpaths directly from the property, you are well located for Suffolk beauty spots and the White Hart pub, (within walking distance), was very good and accepted dogs in the bar.
Julia and Richard were very helpful throughout the booking process and the little welcome gift and check in phone call on our arrival evening was much appreciated. We we would recommend this cottage to anyone!

Beautiful cottage situated in a stunning location
Chantry cottage is without doubt the most charming place I have stayed whilst visiting Suffolk. Comfortable, homely and very well equipped I had everything I needed for a perfectly relaxing week away. Even though I stayed there alone, between the friendly local pub and all the picturesque villages nearby it is impossible to be lonely or without somewhere to visit. One thing that I really loved about this cottage was that just how quiet it was, a really refreshing break from the hustle bustle of every day life. There were some truly stunning walks along the estuary that began very close to the cottage and with several lovely beaches nearby I was never short of somewhere to explore. I have already booked up to return with my family this November and no doubt will be doing so time and time again.
Thank you so much for your review ,we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you again this Winter .
