This peaceful little cottage is an ideal retreat for couples who want to enjoy beautiful scenery on their doorstop, places to visit and yummy pub lunches. The Derbyshire Dales and Peak District are beautiful any time of year. The cottage is warm, comfortable, well equipped and we felt instantly at home. We loved the wood burning stove in the lounge and the bed is really comfy. The owners confirmed our booking quickly, provided travel directions and the tea, coffee and biscuits provided on our arrival were very welcome. We would definitely visit again should the opportunity present.

Really lovely cosy cottage, perfect for the 2 of us!

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is lovely, really comfortable and warm... great for when you get in after a long walk. As a guest you're provided with everything you could possibly need... Wood and kindling for your own fire, a pint of milk in the fridge and tea and biscuits for when you arrive. I'd brought a lot of stuff with me from home thinking it wouldn't be provided but I was and washing up products, towels, hair dryer, body lotion and shower gel. All really great.

The cottage itself is in the perfect location. Very close to Bakewell and then a short drive to Eyam, Edale, Monsal Head, Castletonetc. The village itself has 2 pubs and a local village shop which literally stocks everything!

I would thoroughly recommend this cottage for any couple and wouldn't hesitate staying there again.

Brilliant service

Unfortunately we never actually got to stay here, as due to unforeseen circumstances we were unable to go. But I emailed Lucy (more than 30 days before we were due to arrive), explaining that we would need to cancel. Lucy couldn't have been more understanding and polite about it. She arranged the refund by the very next day. We're gutted that we can't make it as it looks like such a cosy cottage and in a great area. But would love to rebook in the future.
