Just what the holiday doctor ordered

  • 5 of 5

Felt at home as soon as we were settled in. Found Dreadnought Cottage charming, immaculately clean and tidy, and very well-equipped. Nephew and his girlfriend joined us for three nights and they too said they felt at home as soon as they'd unloaded their luggage (the welcome cake helped!). Garden's a great place to sit out and barbecue if you have the weather for it. Recommend this cottage without hesitation.

Pretty Cottage, Pretty Village

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at Dreadnaught. It was comfortable, well designed and the roses were such a treat, almost coming in through the bedroom window. It was well equipped and had everything we needed. Perfect location for the coast at Southwold, Aldeburgh and Minsmere and the village was well placed near - but not too near - to the A12 for travelling around the rest of East Anglia (if we had had time!) We would love to stay again when we can next get back to Suffolk.

A great cottage, clean warm & welcoming

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is every bit as good as the photos suggest, from good off road parking to the tidy courtyard garden, first impressions are very favourable. Enter into the kitchen and it is clear the owners, managers & cleaners all care about this property. It really was the best overall we have stayed in, everything was good quality and well thought out.

The village is a great base for exploring Suffolk with The Star inn being an 8 minute walk away, great 'local' pub with very good food at surprisingly reasonable prices. The Queens Head at Blyford was just a 15 minute walk and was also very welcoming, with very good food & Adnams beer.

Living & dining rooms were well equipped with good stocks of games, books & DVD's. Bedrooms were spacious & welcoming with comfy beds.

Overall we would recommend anybody wanting to visit this part of the world to look no further than Dreadnaught cottage.

I forgot the welcome Victoria sponge - best cake ever - enjoy.

Lovely cosy cottage

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a cosy cottage in a village and this was exactly what we got, especially as the weather was cold, making the log burner a real luxury. The cottage was clean, well equipped and beautifully maintained. The location is ideal for getting some of the lovely places in coastal suffolk with plenty of walks, bracing sea air and nice pubs to warm up in. Thoroughly recommended.
