Gurnard, Cowes, Isle of Wight, England - Lovely coastal location just yards from the beach.

Seawinds is a recently constructed chalet style property with a stunning open plan living, dining and kitchen area. It is located in a rural coastal area in the picturesque village of Gurnard.

Less than 80 metres from the sea and only minutes from the world famous sailing town of Cowes we are ideally situated to explore everything the Island has to offer.

Gurnard is also frequently voted as having some of the best sunsets in the world and you’ll have a front row view from this appointed property.

About Carl Blenkinsop

I live down the road from our rental properties with my partner Michele and our four cats.

I was born in Gurnard and spent my childhood here.

Education and employment took me to London but sailing and the countryside brought me back.

We bought a weekend home in Gurnard Marsh so that I could sail my catamaran. However my weekends became longer and our Gurnard home became our main residence.

Within a few years of living here we purchased two more chalets and had them rebuilt as high quality self-catering holiday properties.

Outside: Seawinds has off-road parking for one car. Additional cars can be parked on the street. To the rear there is a private secure garden with a patio area and a large teak table. Bicycles can be stored in the lockable shed. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen, towels and beach towels are provided and the property is thoroughly cleaned and re-equipped before every letting. In the event of multiple week bookings, fresh linen and cleaning is offered every week.

Booking Notes:
Bookings are taken on our website. (Just Google 'Gurnard Marsh'). A £100 returnable damages deposit will secure a booking. The full payment becomes due 8 weeks prior to your visit. Assuming there is no damage to the property the £100 will be returned within days of you leaving.

Changeover Day:
In school holiday periods we take Saturday to Saturday bookings only Outside of these times we also accept nightly booking with a three night minimum

Notes on prices:
As well as out of season short breaks we also offer discounted prices for couples.

The nearest beach is 50 meters away. It is stony but offers great views of the boats using the Solent. 600 meters away is a more comfortable beach with more seaside facilities. No beach on the island is more than a 30 minute drive away.

Within 50 meters of Seawinds is a small river which has become a favourite with crabbing fans.


Seawinds is approximately 20 minutes drive from all of the Islands ferry ports. We are a 40 minute walk to the foot passenger ferry in Cowes. Most of our guests have arrived by car but some have walked and used the islands public transport system.


Seawinds is a 10-15 minute walk from the facilities in the village of Gurnard and a 40 minute walk away from Cowes. All areas of the Island are no more than a 30 minute drive away.

Further Details:

The Island has all the conveniences you may associate with a rural county. We are well served with supermarkets and restaurants. In Gurnard we have a village shop a newsagent, two pubs, a cafe and an excellent restaurant which is right opposite Seawinds.
