|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
The apartment is at the rear and side of the main cottage and has it's own private access with parking. We can let the property with either one or two bedrooms according to your needs. It stands on a 2 acre site which is bordered by The Brown Flesk river. The property is bordered by mature trees and high hedges giving a peaceful, secluded rural setting. The apartment overlooks our orchard at the rear, this is available as a shared sitting area and where you can enjoy a barbecue on a sunny day. We grow fruit and vegetables without the use of pesticides and these are available to purchase in season. It is a beautiful quiet spot but still has the benefit of being close to the amenities in the village and also very central for Killarney, Tralee, Dingle Peninsula, beaches and other tourist attractions. Farranfore village has two bars, a diner, post office and pharmacy, supermarket, medical centre and railway station. Buses from the village to Tralee, Killarney, Cork and further afield.
Note this is a NON SMOKING apartment.
We are a mature couple and after raising three children we decided to move to Ireland from the UK when the children flew the nest.
We chose Ireland for it's beauty and friendly people, we have always chosen to live in the countryside.
Down through the years in the many places we have lived, we have always been looked on as a friendly and hospitable couple.
Along with other skills we have acquired we decided to share our glorious surroundings and the property which we have extended and renovated, with my husband's construction skills.
Needless to say a warm and friendly welcome awaits you.
Iris Hewerdine purchased this apartment in 1995
When we first saw the cottage and it's setting, we said this is it, we fell in love with it.
It is quiet and secluded but very easy to access everything.
Being down a lane off the road we are able to keep ourselves away from the business of this world, as much as we want to.
Now we have developed our orchard, fruit and vegetable garden, we are reaping the benefits of naturally grown produce.
Iris & Terry made us feel very welcome and responded promptly if we had any questions. Property is well equipped although, we had to get used to some differences in the kitchen area. Everything worked out fine during our stay.
This apartment is very clean, well-kept and comfortable. Iris and her husband made us feel very welcome and offered warm hospitality and also privacy. The beds are comfortable, as are the two bathrooms. The place is charming, showing the loving care that has been put into it. The location is charming, on a little farm in a tiny village very near Killarney. The kitchen had all we needed. We particularly enjoyed a fire in the woodstove in the sitting room on a cool day. Great place for a family stay! I hope we can return again.
We had a lovely quiet stay here, the property was well maintained and clean to a high standard. The owner was very knowledgeable about the area, the attractions and restaurants. The property was well located to the main attractions, with the bounus of being only 2kms from Kerry airport. The weather was not always kind to us, but we could not care as we knew we had a lovely cosy property to return to after a days exploring.
Lovely cozy apartment! Nice quiet area even though we were close to the main tralee/killarney road. Iris and Terry were a lovely couple and I'd have no problem recommending their place to anyone
Nearest beach 21km Inch, driving.
Kerry Airport 2km, railway station in Farranfore 1km, buses also in Farranfore.
Farranfore is 1km.
Killarney, Tralee, approximately 16km.
A very beautiful area with mountains, lakes, large beaches and also rugged coastline.
Killarney National Park is very good for walking and also driving around. Muckross House and gardens are well worth a look. There are many places in the area you can take a ride on a horse drawn vehicle.
In some places like the Gap of Dunloe you can even hire a pony to see the sights.
There are also boat trips in the National Park or trips to see the seals in Kenmare bay.
On the Dingle peninsula there is beautiful scenery and Inch where Ryan's daughter was filmed.
Dingle itself is an interesting town with many tourist shops. It is a fishing town and has harbour and marina.
The Rose of Tralee festival is a popular event and Killorglin's Puck Fair both in August.
There are many eating places in the area especially Killarney, where there is a good variety and some places have traditional music in the evenings.
There is an aquadome in Tralee which is great fun for all the family.
