Apartment in York City Centre, Yorkshire, England - Minster views from lounge.

This sunny, light and modern second floor apartment, ideal for all times of year, even in winter thanks to York's calendar of interesting seasonal events, is located in a purpose built block with secure gated parking. Situated at the head of a quiet cul-de-sac, it offers stunning views of the Minster and is less than 50 metres to the city walls and Monlbar.

The property is finished to a high standard and comprises two bedrooms; one double, one twin, a spacious lounge and well equipped kitchen /dining room to seat 4. Easy to use electric heating in every room. Furniture, beds and bedding are all of an excellent quality to ensure a comfortable stay. Towels,tea towels and other basic kitchen necessities plus a welcome pack are also provided in the price. For further requirements a Sainsburys store is tucked away 50 metres from the apartment.

A "meet & greet" service is offered alongside an information pack containing maps, guides, venues and up-to-date current events for you to make the most of your visit.

The lounge looks onto an enclosed communal garden with seating and covered dining area plus a sheltered cycle store for the more energetic visitor.

York is a surprisingly compact city and most major attractions; river walks and cruises, museums, Minster, shops and restaurants are all within easy walking distance of the apartment. The railway station can be reached on foot in around 20 minutes and the Railway museum is close by.

For people wishing to travel further afield by car or public transport, North Yorkshire offers a varied range of tourist attractions within an hour's drive, such as; spectacular coastline and beaches, historic houses and picturesque villages, all set in beautiful unspoilt countryside, even a nostalgic trip on the North Yorkshire Moors steam railway to Whitby for their famous fish and chips!

The sandy beaches of Scarborough and Bridlington are about 40 miles away. Whitby is a little further and provides a scenic drive through the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.


Leeds/Bradford is the closest airport, and is about an hours drive by car.

York is a railway hub from all parts of the country. The station is approximately half a mile from the apartment.


Besides it's extensive wealth of Roman, Viking and Medieval history which can be explored on foot, the city is located on the river Ouse with cruises and pleasure boats for all to enjoy. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside containing such gems as Castle Howard, 15 miles away and many National Trust properties such as Nunnington and Benningborough Halls a similar distance away.

Concealed from view but within 50 yards of the property is a Sainsbury's store offering extensive but compact shopping. Restaurants to suit all tastes are within easy walking distance.

Notes on accommodation: This sunny apartment is ideal for all seasons and even in winter the cosy heating and double glazing make it ideal for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Outside: The enclosed gardens extend to the rear of the property and contain benches for sun worshipers, and a covered barbecue and seating area, plus a cycle shed. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Housekeeping services will be provided to include good quality bedlinen and towels at the start of each stay. It was a wonderful place to stay and close to everything.

It was beautiful and well equipped. There was a grocery store just a 5 minute walk away. Beautiful garden area and surroundings as well. Owner and caretaker were welcoming and wonderful to work with. We would definitely recommend this venue to everyone.

Great location and really comfortable

Ideal location for our sight seeing and shopping break. The flat is extremely comfortable and very well equipped. Plenty of restaurants close by. We were able to have a good day's sight seeing and then a relaxing time in the flat before finding our evening meal just a short walk away.

Everything about this property is a plus. Clean, perfectly planned, spacious and light with an excellent view of the Minster from the lounge and kitchen windows. The location is quiet and a mere 5min walk to the Minster along a lovely street boasting excellent shops and eateries including one which mixes spices for you to make the perfect curry.

We travelled by train but there is a large private car park in front of the property. At the end of the car park is Sainsbury’s and there is a tour bus stop a mere 1 min walk away. What more do you want. Brilliant! Thank you Julie and we hope to be back next year. Geoff and Barb

Perfect home from home

We - two singers of a European Cathedral choir - used the apartment for 8 days. It was within short walking distance from the Minster and from the historic city centre, so very convenient for us. Although within easy reach of main routes to other destinations in Yorkshire, it was very quiet. The big Sainsbury's at the back and the locked parking lot were a real bonus. The apartment lacked nothing, was very well equipped and tastefully furnished. The beds were fine and I would recommend this place to anyone visiting York. Although we did not cook, but just had breakfast and lunch in the apartment, everything was there to cook a great meal. The owners awaited me and made me feel very welcome and left provisions for the first day as well as a sufficient supply of coffee, tea, sugar etc.

Just perfect really

Bookings through contacting owner directly on mobile phone or email. To secure the selected dates a deposit of 25% of the holiday cost is required. The balance plus a £100 refundable breakages guarantee cheque is requested 4 weeks before the start of the holiday or on arrival.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day Fridays and Mondays but we can be flexible. Please vacate the property by 10am on day of departure and new arrivals will be welcomed after 3pm.

Notes on prices:
Prices for 3 night weekend breaks and midweek breaks are available on request.
Last minute 2night breaks sometimes available.
