Our holiday was peaceful, idyllic and just so relaxing in this beautiful accommodation in such quiet surroundings yet so close to everywhere we wanted to visit in this lovely Cotswolds countryside. We had an amazing break and will be back! We wish to say a huge thank you to Zena who was there to meet us at the time arranged and for her thoughtfulness in providing us with delicious coffee cake! She made us feel at home. We had a really lovely break. Thank you.

Fabulous bungalow in quiet location

  • 5 of 5

We can't praise this property or the owners highly enough - the bungalow has everything you could possibly need, it's spacious, comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean. Zena and Chris were very attentive, friendly and helpful (they live next door), but also respectful of our privacy. Lovely to see the geese, chickens and donkeys at the back - our son loved feeding the donkeys carrots! Within a short drive you have the Cotswolds, Warwick and Stratford upon Avon, so loads to see and do. We'd recommend Warwick Castle and the Mechanical Art & Design (MAD) museum in Stratford.

We all had a lovely break and would definitely stay here again if visiting the area.

Quite location

  • 5 of 5

The owners were very welcoming we have enjoyed our break very much

- the food at the George was excellent too, the only little niggle was the beds the double in one room was VERY soft and the twins/stroke other double were really only suitable for children

Idyllic Cotswold Bungalow

  • 5 of 5

Very comfortable and equipped bungalow down country lane on edge of village. Our hosts Zena and Chris were very accommodating and friendly. Loved to hear their 2 geese calling out, the eggs the hens laid and the 2 donkeys in the field down the lane trotting across for the polo mints.

Brailes is in South Warwickshire close to the Oxfordshire border and within the Cotswold AONB and is surrounded by hills including Brailes Hill which is 761 feet (232m) high and is the second-highest point in Warwickshire.

The village is approx. 4 miles from Shipston-on-Stour on the B4035 towards Banbury (10 miles away). It has several shops for essentials, butcher, newspapers etc. There are two public houses; The George and The Gate both being Hook Norton tied houses – so local beer to enjoy!

St. George’s church is known as ‘The Cathedral of the Feldon’ and the oldest part of it being c.1280. The bell tower has the third heaviest bells in England.

It’s ideal location to explore the surrounding area. It is a popular area for walking with lots of well-maintained public footpaths.

There are many historic houses to visit within easy reach. These include Upton House, Chastleton House, Charlecote Park, Snowshill Manor and Warwick Castle. Also beautiful gardens, including Hidcote Gardens, Sezincote and Batsford Arboretum.

Stratford upon Avon and the Royal Shakespeare Theatre are only 15 miles away.

Hook Norton Brewery is 15 minutes and there many of their public houses within easy reach for some regional beers.
