About Tracy Marples
Thank you for visiting our property. We are a family of 3 and thoroughly enjoy our holidays to the New Forest. Although we are based in Manchester, we do have family in the area therefore benefit from any assistance required locally to ensure your stay in our property is as comfortable as possible.
Tracy Marples purchased this Cabin in 2014
Why Tracy Marples chose Downton
This property was acquired in July 2014. As soon as we saw the lodge, we completely fell in love with it as it is beautifully presented and it is a prime location within the park, so if we hadn't have acted quickly, we knew we would have lost it to somebody else. We are regular visitors to the area due to our love of the location, all it has on offer, and of course family!! There are so many different things to do in and around the area, and it appeals to everybody. Whether you like wildlife, water or would just like some peace and quiet, it's all here. We love it.
What makes this Cabin unique
Our property benefits from 2 bathrooms, one of which has a full size bath which is great for relaxing in, and for small children to bathe in. It's also located within a cul du sac area, therefore we don't have a continuous flow of traffic from passing cars travelling to another lodge. The area behind our lodge is really private, and it feels as though we have our own private back garden where we are not overlooked from behind. We also don't have any lodges facing us, so the front is also really private too.

Lovely lodge in a gorgeous area
We found the lodge very clean, tidy and lovely! We found the heating warmed up the lodge very quickly and the beds were comfortable. It would have been nice to have better instructions for the heating/hot water - and we weren't sure what to do with our rubbish and recycling - but other than that it was a perfect weekend stay.
Well located & equiped challet
Very spacious & well equipped challet. Not impressed with the bistro, food OK, but not good value, much better eating an the pub up the road Royal Oak, or in Milford on Sea.
Many thanks for your 5 Star review. I do hope you come back and stay again in the future.
Kind regards - Tracy & Family
Lovely property - well equipped and great location
Our 3 night stay was fantastic. Very clean and fresh, friendly neighbors and close to everything. Thank you!
(Note to other travellers - dont forget to bring your own bath & tea towels - although you can rent them from the complex!)
Many thanks for your lovely review. It was very kind of you to take the time to comment on our property. I hope you will return again.
Kind regards - Tracy
A really lovely and very well maintained property with everything you would need.
This is one of the nicest places we have stayed and will definitely return. The decor was lovely and it was very clean. Its ideally situated too in a nice quiet area but only a short walk from the parks facilities.
A beautifully appointed lodge with lawn and trees surrounding. We really enjoyed our weekend stay, the children loved it too. Spotlessly clean with lovely bed linen. A good location for the sea and the New Forest.
Impressive luxury accommodation with American style fridge freezer. Would book again
Impressive luxury accommodation with American style fridge freezer, double oven and quality furniture. Would book again.
The nearest beach is Milford on Sea. You can easily walk in 15/20 minutes although a car is recommended. This is a pebble beach and for younger children, we would recommend Highcliffe however access can be a little steep for some people.
One of our favourite activites is Crabbing and there is a great place near Milford on Sea. Walk past the Marine Restaurant on the seafront and keep going until you reach the second bridge on your left. The crabs are plentiful and very safe for younger children.
There are so many places to visit within the surrounding areas, with most of the best being free.
A really great day out is at Moors Valley in Ashley Heath. No more than a 30 minutes drive away. You can spend the whole day here and you only pay for parking. It costs around £8.00. You can wander through the woods trail and find all the hidden adventure playgrounds and then rest in the picnic area, take a ride on the little train or kids can use more energy in the parks. A really great inexpensive day out!!
