'Seahaven' is a beautiful town house, of contemporary design, originally conceived and built as competitor accommodation for the 2012 Summer Olympics (the Danish team in our case). This 4 double bedroom, 2 bathroom townhouse is light and spacious, sleeping 8 with 2 additional travel cots for babies. It is decorated and equipped to the highest standards, with open plan living extending from kitchen, through dining and living area, opening to a well proportioned and secure south facing garden. There is garden seating and a large BBQ; perfect for al fresco dining. Nestled between Chesil Beach, Portland Castle and world class sailing and water sports facilities.

'Seahaven' is perfectly located for exploring Dorset and Devon, with its stunning 'Jurassic coast' and beautiful countryside. Cafes, pubs, marina and fabulous beaches are just minutes away on foot.

Why Mike Hodge and Julia Potts chose Portland

We happened upon Seahaven when visiting friends in Portland and fell in love with it's contemporary design and spacious open plan living. It has a wonderful south facing garden which is fully enclosed and gives a good level of privacy and security. The fact that is is so close to the beach and local marina sealed it for us...and we finally got the keys to our brand spanking new house in October 2013

Seashaven is very spacious and modern in design, offering four genuinely double bedrooms over two floors. It sits in a lovely quiet square with sea views out towards Weymouth and beyond

Thank you very much for a wonderful stay in your home, with all the facilities and features we could wish for. We could not have asked for anything more. We enjoyed BBQ's in the yard, the weather was great -warm and sunny- all aiding in a relaxing holiday.

Some of us stayed here as part of the Olympic team in 2012 so nice to return, plus enjoy great sailing on the bay.

Amazing property, home from home.

What a wonderful home, the minute we walked through the door it felt comfortable and the attention to detail is great, you don't want for anything and the house is comfortable and cosy and decor beautiful, can't wait to return. The owners were brilliant to work with with any questions we had. Thank you Mike and Julia.

Fabulous home from home in a peaceful location

This property was the perfect base for our family holiday in the local area. Beaches within walking distance and Weymouth Beach a short 10minute drive away was beautiful and sandy for our 2 year old. Also 20 mins from Abbotsbury and it's attractions.

The house was well equipped with the essentials and all the home comforts you could hope for. The décor and facilities of an exceptional standard. We were particularly impressed with the provision of so many of the bulky items you need when travelling with a toddler - travel cot, change mat, high chair and booster and plastic bowls, plates and cutlery. The property's location was on a quiet estate with views up over Portland and out of one bedroom you could see the sea!

The owners were incredibly helpful at offering tips and advice on local amenities.

All in all a lovely relaxing family break with extended family and one we hope to repeat next year as we all enjoyed it so much.

Amazing Week

Well where do I begin, this house is beautiful and had everything we needed & more. It literally was a home from home experience and had a very welcoming feel to it. Its location is perfect for exploring Portland as there is so much to see and we were very lucky with the weather. We would defiantly like to return as there is still so much we didn't get to see and Seahaven is the perfect base. Thank You for letting us stay in your lovely house.

A year on since our last visit, we have returned for a short break at this lovely townhouse so I guess that says it all! As before, property was spotless and very comfortable. Weather was mixed but still more places to see and visit than we had time for. A great 'getaway from it all' location!

Perfect for a family stay

A lovely, clean, modern and large family home. The owners ensure that there is everything you need for a perfect family stay. The property is located just over the causeway on the island of Portland with easy access to Weymouth and the Jurassic coast. I should imagine that it would be lovely in the summertime with it being in a relatively peaceful location, yet close to the beaches and coastline. Although the property does not have dedicated parking, it is possible to park within the estate in communal parking areas although finding a space can sometimes be a bit difficult. On one occasion, when every space was taken up, we had to park in a nearby car park and walk back to the house although this was not too much of a problem. We would thoroughly recommend the property to our friends and family and are already planning a return visit. Many thanks for a wonderful stay.

Owner's Response: It's great to know that so many people think of Seahaven as a home from home, which is so important, especially at Christmas time. Seahaven is snuggled into a small and exclusive private development and very occasionally, parking for families with multiple cars can be slightly limited, which is why we’re so fortunate to have an area to the front of the property for loading and unloading, as well as plenty of free and unlimited on street parking surrounding the development, and in addition a couple of long stay car parks all within a 2/3 minute walk.

Absolutely Perfect!

We stayed for a long weekend with small children and cannot rate the property and its location highly enough! It's an absolutely lovely 3 storey house situated in a quiet court yard about a 2 minute walk to the beach and harbour. The house is beautifully presented and the owners have thought of everything and were most helpful with anything we asked. Perfect for adults who want a civilised holiday or for those with children as there is a lovely secure garden and everything is within walking distance. We will definitely be visiting again!

The garden is secure and flat for children and you have the benefit of many things to see and do so close to the house. Victory Park, just across the road has great views and a childrens play area. Spectacular Chesil beach is 5 minutes away on foot. A small sandy beach, very popular with local families, can be found next to the Castle facing the inner harbour, which is at most a 10 minute walk. A few yards further on can be found a beautiful marina, with shops and restaurants.

Portland Bill, with its famous lighthouse and Bird watching station is about a 10 minute drive. Ever popular Weymouth and is 15 minutes away by car.

Fortuneswell is a ten minute walk away up a steep hill (not for the faint hearted) and has pubs, cafes, a newsagent, pharmacy, well equipped Co-op store and several fishing and antiques shops. Deeper into Portland is Easton, which is about a 5 minutes drive, where more shops and facilities can be found, together with a newly built and good sized Tesco store.
