About Claire Mackenzie
Claire & Douglas Mackenzie are both from Scotland. Central & North Perthshire and The Isle of Skye. Douglas' ideal posting would be manning a Light House on West Coast. Lochinver and Summer Isles are a must see. Sutherland up to Cape Wrath! For Claire's ideal posting/location would be from the sea enjoying the Isles of the West Coast and Out Hebrides. However travelling the world would be nice. Tulach Ard House in the Cairngorms, Moray is their chosen home. We enjoy life near & on the Spey River, Moray Coast. Whisky Tasting trips and historical Scotland on our doorstep. Grantown on Spey is a 'Gateway' to so much we love living here.

Grantown on Spey is a quiet thriving traditional highland town in Strathspey & Badenoch a region in the Scottish Highlands. We chose Grantown on Spey primarily looking at what we wanted and needed as a family. Having 2 main train lines 30minutes away and Airports of Inverness and Aberdeen have also contributed to our move to Grantown in 2010.

Ideal location to explore Aviemore and the surrounding areas
The owner (Clare) greeted us and made us feel welcome and provided all necessary information about the house, locality and so on. It is a very comfortable house with all mod-cons and would recommend it for friends or families.
A truly fabulous place to stay
What a lovely house- everything we needed. Help from Claire and Douglas whenever we needed it. The wood burning stove was magical and warm, as it was snowy and cold outside. The house is situated perfectly between two ski resorts, Aviemore and the Lecht. Our two teenagers loved the Lecht as they were beginners. The magic carpet travellator helped them enjoy their first experiences on skis and snowboards. The landscape is awesome and our two took loads of pictures and I got my pastels out and have made a start on a series of pictures. Thank you for a lovely break.
Delighted to know you all enjoyed your break and the house providing for you. Fabulous that Ski-ing 'The Lecht' rather than Cairngorms for you was a success. Wind factor and travelator carpet ride for beginners is key. It was a pleasure to meet you all. Claire x
A great cottage in a fantastic location
Lovely cottage set in a great location. perfect access to the woods in Grantown, and easy to get into town too for the pub/shop.
The owners were lovely, and looked after our needs. the rooms were all well appointed, and everything worked really well. The wood pellet stove was super toasty.
special mention must go to the fact that the kitchen knives were sharp, makes such a difference, as most self catering places have kitchen knives that couldn't cut soft butter.
