Our fourth villa on Hvar is also located in the western quiet part of the town of Hvar. You do not have to worry: you will have peace and rest in the immediate vicinity of the beach and a pleasant 15-minute walk to the center.
Land plot with weedy and green trees gives the pastoral atmosphere to this charming house. The pool brings a touch of glamour.
Wooden furniture gives a feeling of grandma’s home, and floral designs of pillows and curtains softens formality of earth colors, beige, olive and gray that dominate the interior design.
From the terrace you can directly come to the kitchen / dining and living room thanks to two outputs. Wooden furniture gives a feeling of grandma’s home, and floral designs of pillows and curtains softens formality of earth colors, beige, olive and gray that dominate the interior design.
Fantastic villa at a good price. I visited this villa on 15th May 2014 with a group of 7 other girls following our university exam. After a disastrous journey with easy jet we arrived in Hvar and with Dom’s incredibly useful instructions arrived at the villa with little hassle. The staff at the nearby hotel where the keys are collected from were incredibly helpful during our stay. They arranged taxis for us and helped us with ferry timetables etc. The pool is completely private and is lovely. The next door villas are close together but this is not a problem as there are trees all around protecting each villa’s privacy. The surrounding area is wonderful – the villa is nestled in-between several other beautiful Croatian buildings. The sea is only a few minutes from the villa as are lots of bars and restaurants. The location really couldn’t be better. Towels and basic toiletries were provided which was a nice surprise and the kitchen is very well stock with utensils and salt/ pepper etc.. Dom was a very helpful host and replied to all emails and messages promptly. Villa would be suitable for groups of friends or families of all ages
The accommodation was lovely, 4 rooms, 8 beds and 3 bathrooms gave us plenty of space and you never had to wait to take a shower.
the yard with the grill, big table outside and the pool was also very nice and we used all of it frequently.
The only thing that pulls down the overall score is the fact that noise at night is not allowed. We were a group of seven who had dinner at home and sitting outside talking afterwards. At around 23.30 we got a noise complaint from the neighbours. It seemed a bit excessive, as it was hardly a party or very loud. But, rules are rules.
Other then that, it was nice and clean, good standard on the beds, kitchen ware etc.
The service at the reception was outstanding! I'm in the hospitality business as well and I would hire them all in a heartbeat! :)
The place was very nice. The people in registration were very polite and helpful, and afterwards the check in we could enjoy the holidays without any distractions! The pool area was perfect, and the best part was that the sea was just in front of us, so we spent a lot of time going to the beach and the bars near it. Hvar Island is beautiful and we enjoyed it!
We had a lovely time at the villa and the welcome croissants and drinks was a good touch. The villa was very clean and the place was well equipped. Except that it did not have enough coffee/tea mugs/cups.
The booking service was very good. The responses were quick and efficient. However, we do have to complain that no one told us that the catamaran that we wanted to book did not run on our day of arrival as it was a national holiday. Therefore, the person just went ahead and booked tickets on a very late catamaran instead of coming back to us to confirm whether we wanted to book this catamaran or an alternative. This was very disappointing as we wanted to get to Hvar early and so ended up having to pay for more tickets to get us on the ferry earlier. So had to pay twice for ferry/catamaran tickets. We should have been told in advance. We requested these arrangements a long time in advance and it must have been known to someone that the catamaran we wanted wouldn’t run so someone should have told us so we could discuss an alternative before we got to Split.
Other than that the holiday and the service was great. We love Hvar and Croatia.
We stayed at Villa Mare for five nights and the best word to describe it is: AWESOME!
We loved the location, it's a 15 minute walk from the center of Hvar Town, but it's a fun and easy walk, as there are beaches, bars and restaurants on the way. The staff at Pharia reception was very accommodating and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. When we arrived, there was a welcome basket waiting for us, with croissants and refreshing juice - that was a great start of our holiday.
The villa has its own private swimming pool, which is amazing for when you're feeling lazy, haha!
The villa is in a great location, a short walk from the beach, where you can find lots of beach bars with lounge chairs and deckchairs to relax on, with a cocktail in your hand!
You can basically walk to the beach in your bikini!
The pictures from the webste didn't lie, it was even better in real-life! All in all, a great place for relaxation and also as a base for exploring the beautiful Island of Hvar.
We will definitely come back to Hvar and to Villa Mare!
Brilliant House, excellent facilities, great pool and a wonderful location. Hvar is a beautiful Island and very friendly - would certainly recommend a day out on a boat!!
Water sports: scuba-diving (there are many good diving schools), rowing, water-skiing, surfing, fishing, swimming, jet-ski, sea kayaking, sailing.
Wine tours, Mountain biking is popular since there are many historical and other locations which can be reached by bike, and there are many different types of bike trails, some with fantastic views.
The blessings of nature and favourable historical circumstances have made the area around Hvar Island a particularly fascinating part of the Adriatic coastline.
From the earliest signs of human habitation to the present day, it has benefitted from the influence of different civilisations, which have created layer upon layer of cultural history. Hvar Island today, though small, is dotted with enduring symbols and covered in a closely-woven network of historical monuments.
Hvar Island enjoys more days of sunshine than any other in the Adriatic and since the dawn of history has been the inspiring refuge of many peoples, from early Neolithic Mediterranean builders, the Hellenists who settled the towns of Hvar (particularly in the city of Pharos), the Romans, who built its harbours and towns, to the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque eras, when the island became a shining example of spiritual and artistic progress.
In recent times, Hvar Island has again featured on the Mediterranean cultural map, and has become an elite summer resort. No wonder then that Traveller magazine rated it among the 10 most beautiful islands in the world.
Hvar Island seems to have a soul, a tangible aroma combining lavender, sage, rosemary, heather, mint, myrtle, thyme and countless other herbs which thrive in its soil, making it the Mediterranean's largest botanical garden. This is an island bursting with life, its vegetation, rocks and sea reflecting every ray of sunlight. This is an island where the Sun feels at home.
Physical sensations are taken onto the plane of dreams and enjoyment is as deep as the sea. You do not need to travel far to experience life at its fullest – just sail from cove to cove around Hvar. Hvar Island is proof that the best dreams can come true, or rather, the real world can seem like a dream.
