Morning Cottage in St Ives, Cornwall, England - Sleeps 6 People, Ideal Location Just Steps From The Town Centre And Beaches

Morning Cottage is perfect for a family holiday. It is close to all the many attractions of St Ives including the beautiful beaches and town, but in a peaceful location. The kitchen is well equipped for your comfort, although there are so many wonderful restaurants, cafes and pubs in St.Ives you probably won't want to cook. The cottage has 3 bedrooms (2 twin and 1 double) and sleeps 6. It has a very large living room with comfy seating, TV and electric piano. There is a bathroom with bath and overhead shower as well as a separate cloakroom and also a warm shower outside for washing off the sand after trips to the sea. For the less energetic it is great to sit with a glass of wine on the patio overlooking the sea. The top bedroom has a large window facing the sea and a rocking chair - an ideal place to sit and watch out for dolphins passing by.

Why Sarah Bennett chose St Ives area

St Ives is a magical place and so beautiful. I'm not very keen on the seagulls trying to steal my ice-creams but on sunny days I do love to sit on the rocks near the cottage watching out for the porpoises, dolphins and seals that sometimes pass by.

Outside: Garden with patio overlooking Porthgwidden Beach. Outdoor table and chairs. Outdoor shower (with warm water!) for washing the sand off from the beach and hanging rails for wetsuits. Portable barbecue. Parking accessed from an unmade road situated behind Carncrows Street Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen for the beds is provided, together with a tea towel and bath mat. You will need to bring your own towels, although I can arrange for towel hire if you prefer. Please ask me for details.

Lovely warm cottage in a great position. No need for a car. Kitchen well stocked. Beds comfy. View from top floor wonderful. Short walk to Porthgwidden beach cafe for brekkie . Hopefully will return for another winter break

Beautiful charming house with fantastic view !

We have stayed at this property for many years and always had a fantastic experience (its why we keep coming back!) Its very charming and offers a lot of space inside which is very rare in St.Ives. The garden is lovely and is nice to sit in and admire the amazing view. Communication with the owner has always been prompt and helpful. It is in a great location for all of St Ives beaches and town !!! A must stay !!!

Wonderful seaside cottage in St Ives/Downalong

We spent a wonderful week in July at Morning Cottage. We took lots of lovely walks along the coastal path and through town. The large shops are a bit further away, but there's a small store that has most everything on Norway St. Honestly, nothing is really that far away. The Thursday farmer's market at the town hall had a great selection of local meats, fish, vegetables and baked goods.

The cottage is roomy, lots of windows and very airy. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the washer came in handy! The beds are comfortable and my teen boys loved the loft room - my older son liked sitting in the chair to read or play guitar with the window open, watching the ocean. The views are spectacular, and we saw dolphins one day, seals the next. The two parking spots were larger than I thought (fitting a minivan and a miniSUV). The outdoor shower was convenient for rinsing off sand, and heated to boot! The indoor shower/bath was also roomy and very nice - point of use water heater meant we didn't run out of hot water! The outdoor garden was well-furnished with table and chairs for outdoor dining/glasses of Prosecco, and we used the grill almost daily!

Overall we had a very relaxing and low-key week, with good weather. The only things to watch out for in St. Ives are aggressive seagulls (who like to steal ice cream!) and very narrow streets which make driving a challenge.

Perfect location

You couldn't find a better located property, steps virtually from the back door down to the beach, and an easy stroll into St Ives itself. Lovely walks around and plenty to do even if the weather's not great.

The property was comfortable, modern and spacious, with all you could want and need for a relaxing break. Thoroughly recommended for families.

Truly amazing location, fab cottage & parking!!!

Morning Cottage is in an amazing location about 1 minute walk from the utterly beautiful Porthgwidden beach. You can see the beach from the garden and the sea from the kitchen window which lifts your spirits every time you glance out through the cottage. The cottage is big and spacious and there is loads of room in the living area to relax, it is well equipped with everything you could need plus an organ for extra child delights!! loads of books, puzzles games etc. Plus the bonus of a load of beach stuff to borrow (we used the dinghies and the buckets which were better than ours!). The rooms were all spotlessly clean on our arrival and the kitchen has a lovely light dining area in it (again where you can see the lovely sea from). There is everything you can think of in the kitchen, in fact the whole cottage is very well equipped. One of the best things is the not one but TWO parking spaces - right outside which makes a big difference and is incredibly rare. I found Sarah the owner, to be incredibly helpful and communication with her was excellent from start to finish. You must book this cottage if you are considering it, you will not beat the location - it is stunning and you are nicely a few minutes walk out of the town so can easily escape the crowds in busy season and feel very peaceful and relaxed. Sitting in the beautiful newly landscaped garden sipping prosecco in the sun looking at the sea - what more could you want?

Car: not necessary


There are several beautiful sandy beaches within walking distance of the house. The nearest ones are less than a minute's walk. At Porthwidden and the Harbour beach you can sometimes see seals and dolphins close to the shore. Porthmeor Beach is famous for its excellent surfing and is about 3 minutes walk from the house.


It is not essential to have a car in St Ives as there is so much to do locally. There is also an excellent train service running from the top of town, just 15 minutes walk from the cottage, and regular coach trips to a variety of landmarks in the surrounding area. The nearest airport is Newquay, which is about 50 minutes drive from St. Ives


Although there are numerous things to see and do in St Ives itself, there are also many attractions within an hour's drive of the cottage. These include the Eden Project, St. Michael's Mount, the Minack Theatre (built into the cliffs), Lands End, Paradise Park (always a favourite of mine!) and The Seal Sanctuary.
