Marina Boathouse is a unique place to escape and relax. Situated within the prestigious Windermere Marina it overlooks the channel flowing out into the lake as well as the marina itself. Take our champagne bucket out onto the balcony, relax and watch the boats go by, the herons and the cormorants; you might even get to see the otter or kingfisher. Just a 10 minute walk from the bustling lakeside village of Bowness-on-Windermere, it is the perfect place to stay and enjoy all that the Lake District has to offer. Climb a mountain or take a stroll along the shore to Bowness Bay where you can take a cruse on the lake. Everything is here for you to enjoy your holiday in our well equipped apartment, at a pace to suit you. Explore the fells or the quirky and unique local shops. Fish for your supper or try some of our fabulous restaurants. Try out some water sports or hop on the ferry across the lake and visit Beatrix Potter's house at Far Sawrey. If you don't fancy the night life of Bowness the twinkling lights of the marina from the balcony make a beautiful romantic setting.

Why Catherine Bateman chose Windermere & Central Lakes

The property has been in the family since my Grandfather and a local builder built it in 1965.After being used as a family retreat for many years my husband and I completely renovated it and gave it a new modern look in 2013.

What makes this apartment unique

The Marina Boathouse is perfectly situated for the vast amount of things the Lake District has to offer. Whether it's a fell walk up Brantfell, a cruse on the lake, a night at the theatre in Bowness, boutique shopping, a huge choice of restaurants and bars, the Motor Museum at Backbarrow,the art at Blackwell or a full range of water sports; it's all on the doorstep. Look out for the otter and the kingfisher that frequent the banking.

Returned to Windermere after getting married here a year ago so celebrating our one year anniversary. What a gorgeous place to stay to celebrate, so beautiful, so peaceful. A real treat! Furnished to an excellent standard, just our taste.

This was our first visit to the Lake District and the Boathouse was PERFECT! So peaceful with lovely views, ducks and swans to feed, a pretty walk into Bownesss so a perfect location for us. Well furnished with everything we needed - and the bed was SO comfortable. I don't want to leave.....but am sure we will be back.

Perfect home from home

Beautifully decorated modern boathouse,10 minutes walk from all bars and restaurants. Or 3 pounds in a taxi. The apartment is very high spec throughout. Comfy bed, fresh fluffy towels and more kitchen appliances than we have at home. Fab views through the picture window of the marina. Which also has a nice bar. Lovely place to chill and watch the worl go by. Fab communication from owners. We love Bowness, and will definetly return to the boathouse in the future. Thank you for a very relaxing stay. Wish we were still there :)

The Boathouse was spotlessly clean and is exactly as advertised on the website. 10 minutes walk from Bowness village, lots of bars and restaurants to suit everybody's tastes. Would highly recommend. We will definitely be returning.

Perfect quiet location in the heart of the Lake District, just a stroll away from Bowness. It was a pleasure waking up every morning watching the boats and wildlife go by. The boathouse has been modernised to a high standard and was exceptionally clean. Owners were helpful with any questions. A smooth care free booking and great stay.

The accommodation was exactly as stated on the website. It was spotlessly clean and well maintained. Fixtures and fittings were of a high quality. We had an extremely peaceful and relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings.

Lovely Property

Easy to book with good information provided by the owner.

Great location very tranquil, only a short walk to Bowness on Windemere which has lots of very good places to eat and drink.

The Boathouse has been decorated to a high standard and is well equipped. A bottle of Prosseco and chocolates was a lovely surprise on arrival

The swans arrived every morning for breakfast and enjoyed feeding them from the balcony with the bird food provided, as well as the robin which was also a regular visitor.

Will definitely book again.

Perfect apartment in the Lakes

This is a wonderful apartment to stay in while visiting the Lakes District. We liked that it was close to town but far enough away that it was peaceful and relaxing. Beautiful view, excellent kitchen and plenty of space. And we got to see the otters on the otter cam which was a real treat!
