What a "Gem"

  • 5 of 5

My wife, children and grandson stayed for a long awaited break and family catch up. The area is great for walking, mountain biking, eating and resting. Ashford in the Water is picturesque! we fed the ducks every day at the sheep dipping bridge, played in the park close by, ate in the lovely pubs both within a few minutes walk from the cottage. Helen & Mark couldn't have been more helpful and were very hospitable from the telephone call before our stay to discuss walks, places to visit to restaurants etc to even being available early one morning when our day trip plans changed. Corner Cottage is extremely comfortable, well equiped and very homely we thoroughly enjoyed our week and have even booked again for next year, we cannot wait to come back, Thank you!

Cannot fault Corner Cottage !

  • 5 of 5

Having stayed last year we contacted Helen for a last minute short break with my family during March.

My eldest child is at University in Sheffield and it was lovely to catch up in homely surroundings and not having to worry about cooking or cleaning. We knew we could rely on Helen for the cleanliness and comfort of Corner Cottage, thank you.

See you again soon.

Wonderful sixth stay!

  • 5 of 5

Helen and Mark, thank you for another wonderful stay in your lovely cottage. As ever we thoroughly enjoyed staying at Corner Cottage, such a lovely warm cosy place and as from our very first visit 4 years ago we felt at home as soon as we walked through the door! We enjoyed walking to Monsal Head, the viaduct and back to the cottage via Bakewell. We had a lovely meal in the Ashford arms and a few pre dinner drinks in The Bulls Head then made the quick walk back to the cottage where we had early prepared a birthday meal and enjoyed the fantastic dining room facilities for our celebration. We feel so privileged to of found your cottage and cannot recommend highly enough. We are looking forward to visit number seven. THANK YOU again!

Spacious and comfy cottage with beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

On arrival we received a complimentary bottle of wine and biscuits, which gave our holiday a very good start. The cottage was much more spacious than expected for 6 people we had lots of space and enjoyed hanging out in the communal areas. Around the corner to the cottage is a pub which does delicious home-made food. Also down the road is a restaurant which does amazing food too! My friends and I explored the area which I would highly recommend doing. Overall we had a great time at this cottage in a good location and lots of lovely places to eat. Would definitely return!

Lovely cosy cottage

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed In Corner Cottage for a much needed three day break. I cannot recommend this accommodation enough!. It is a great place to stay. Helen And Mark made us all feel very welcome, Our 9 and 11year old sons had an amazing time fishing in the nearby river and playing in the local park, not to mention Abraham Heights. We all had a lovely break and are already planning a return in the New Year.

Fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a third fantastic week in October at Corner Cottage. The property is warm and cosy, well supplied with absolutely everything. The cottage is a stones through from the River Wye and the village is very pretty and extremely friendly. Within the village there are 2 pubs both of which serve excellent food. There is a lot of information in the welcome folder including great walks. The Monsal trail is in easy walking distance and excellent for both walking and cycling. Chatsworth House is a 5 minute drive an Bakewell only 2. The courtyard is dog proof and a lovely suntrap! Helen and Mark were great from our initial enquiry all the way through to beyond our departure kindly forwarding on left possessions. We highly recommend Corner Cottage it is a fabulous base. We look forward to visit number four.
