Cottage in Whitstable, Kent, England - Great location, less than 5 minutes from the beach and harbour

We took 6 months to renovate the house and it has quality fixtures and fittings with under floor heating to the ground floor. Large master bathroom, and comes fully fitted throughout with beautiful furniture and antiques. It is positioned very close to Harbour street with its array of shops and restaurants and is also very close for a stroll through the harbour and along the beach. All facilities are right there on your doorstep, and with festivals at different times of year, there is much to enjoy!


Parking is on the street and there is a cheap car park very close.

About Tim Wood

We are a building company who normally do projects for private clients in central London. This house was a project for ourselves and our families and it required a lot more work than we first thought. But as anyone can see when they stay, a great deal of hard work/time and love went into making it into what it is today. It is our home from home and we relax as soon as we walk through the door. We hope you will feel the same.

I went to Whitstable with my business partner in July 2013 for the 1st time and we both really liked it. We thought it would be a good place for an investment property which both of our families could use when the work was done, and could also provide a small income as a holiday let. The house is in the perfect location for exploring Whitstable town and the surrounding coastal area and towns.

What makes this Cottage unique

Our property is very close to the independent shops, good restaurants and pubs. You are able to wander about without having to use a car, unless you decide to go to Canterbury or any other near by town. When the tides out you can catch the swale, if your early enough! You may decide to cook or not. There is an abundance of restaurants and casual eateries.

                                                                The cottage is beautifully appointed - Tim and Ann-Marie have renovated it to a quality standard and finish. It is very comfortable, beautifully and tastefully furnished and perfectly situated in the residential area, just 2 mins walk from the high street, harbour and all they have to offer in the way of pubs and restaurants. In addition, it is only 5 mins from Whitstable beach.

                                                                The courtyard garden is a real sun trap - a perfect way to start the morning by having breakfast out there, and also pre or post-dinner drinks. Couldn't ask for a better way to start/finish the day

                                                                The cottage was the foundation and base for a wonderful long weekend in Whitstable - how I wish I was back there now.

                                                                Tim and Ann-Marie are great hosts and I cannot thank them enough for agreeing to rent the cottage to me. I do hope to be back there sometime soon.

                                                                Beautifully renovated old terraced cottage, 2 minutes walk from the shops, cafes and restaurants of Whitstable. 5 minutes to the sea.

                                                                The cottage is very well located, it was left in a clean and comfortable state in every room. Booking directly with the owner was straightforeward and safe who made me feel very welcome.

                                                                - blinds in every room were perfect

                                                                There were just a couple of minor issues that we had as there was no duvet but many blankets provided for the double bed and a very narrow staircase to 2nd bedroom.

                                                                Apart from that the cottage was perfect and we will be looking to re-book for future visits.

                                                                Hi Vish, thanks for the review and we are pleased that you like our house, the choice of blankets over duvet is purely personal as we felt providing blankets and sheets which get washed after each visitor was a more hygienic way to carry things out, the staircase to the 2nd floor is original and typical of these fishermens cottages

                                                                Our five days in Whitstable were wonderful, not least because of this lovely cottage, stylish and comfortable, warm, in a great location, quiet yet very close to restaurants, shops, harbour and waterfront. The owners were very friendly and helpful. As other reviewers have pointed out the stairs to the top bedroom are quite narrow and steep, probably not suitable for everyone. The guest toilet on the ground floor is a definite plus if four guests are staying. Great use of space.The lovely little patio garden off the kitchen is private and surprisingly sunny. Highly recommended.

                                                                Perfect weekend break in this lovely cottage. We thought it was a stunning renovation, so well done and incorporating some clever touches. It is very stylish and well equipped but still feels cosy and comfortable. I also loved the garden design.

                                                                The location is perfect for shops, restaurants, harbour etc.

                                                                All pros and no cons. Would definitely recommend.
