Both bedrooms and the living room have wall mounted Dimplex electric heaters. Chalet 118 has been created as a home from home that the owners use on a regular basis. The chalets at Norton Park offer you the freedom to come and go as you please, and provide a great base to explore the many attractions that South Devon has to offer.

The Chalet has been bought as our own bolt hole near to our family in Dartmouth. This year the Chalet has been redecorated to make it our home from home, a stylish but comfortable place to escape to.

Dartmouth is a beautiful town, with a vibrant social scene, and numerous festivals throughout the year.

What makes this chalet unique

Chalet 118 is ideally located to explore the wonderfully South Devon footpath, a walkers paradise. For those enjoying the outdoors there is an abundance of activities, such as sailing, fishing and with a nearby golf course it offers something for everyone. Dartmouth offers a unique shopping experience with plenty of choice when it comes to fine dining.

My daughter and her two sons loved the chalet. They found everything they needed and the boys loved their bunk beds. The site was very quiet, but they were happy with that. The location of the chalet was on a main road and they found it very convenient for getting to all the nearby beaches, and the ferry. They went crabbing in Dartmouth most evenings. The boys are nattering at Mum to book again for 2014!

Fantastic Chalet, lovely décor, very clean and really well equipped. We stayed for a week with 3 yr old daughter and baby son and had a brilliant holiday. Plenty of space in the Chalet for us all,grassy area outside with no cars nearby for our 3yr old to play on. Dartmouth was great with ferry rides, crabbing, lovely park, beaches, ice creams etc and nearby steam train, rare breeds park and much more. We hope to return in the future. Wendy Dublin

Notes on accommodation: Accessibility The chalet is all on one level, but has not been designed for wheelchair users or people with limited mobility. Outside: Norton Park is a small and peaceful site of around 200 chalets set in approx. 22 acres of well maintained grounds. The chalets are thoughtfully laid out in an attractive setting of grass, trees and shrubs and enjoy estuary views from one side and rolling Devon countryside to the other. The allocated parking space for the chalet is close by, and because access roads have been kept to a minimum the site is quiet and safe to walk around. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The beds are made up with high quality white bedding, bath, hand and tea towels are provided however please bring your own towels for use outside of the chalet. The chalet is cleaned on your departure. Other: Folding table and chairs provided for use in the shared outdoor area. Ironing board and iron are provided. A selection of local interest books and board games are provided along with a map of the local area.

chalet best suited for summer use

The electricity meter is coin operated. We were unlucky with the weather, as it was particularly cold. However, to enjoy this chalet we would need the weather to be warm enough to open windows to freshen the atmosphere and let the mouldy smell out. In addition, the fridge drip tray was full and the ice box dirty. Also, extra blankets provided were thin and not very warm, so the bedding was insufficient for use of both bedrooms in low season. On the positive side, the chalet was well equipped and everything we used worked.

Brilliant little chalet!

We arrived for our 3 night stay in Dartmouth an we were super impressed with this chalet! Lovely furniture and so well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Cooking was made easy because of how well stocked the kitchen was! Love the blankets scattered around the chalet too! We were super cosy and really enjoyed our stay and will definantly stay again when we next visit, just perfect for what we needed! Thank you very much

Relaxing and enjoyable

Unfortunately due to our limited time away ( 4 days ) we only had a short stay at this accommodation. We did find the chalet was well equipped and we enjoy the peace and quiet, a little gem.

When we first arrived at the cottage (after a 12 hour drive from Germany) we were so tired. We just wanted to relax and enjoy our stay. Upon opening the front door, we weee pleased by the first impression. The decor is pleasing and the cottage smelled of cleaning products. Unfortunately, this is the end of the good experience. The floors were sticky, there was hair all over the floor, the place had obviously not been cleaned, or at beast, poorly cleaned by a five year old child. When we went into the master bedroom we were even more disappointed and to be honest, disgusted. We are usually pretty easy going but there is one thing that is 100% of the time unacceptable. There was hair in our bed, in between the sheets. There is no way that this happens unless the sheets were not changed. This completely ruined our experience and made for a very uncomfortable few days. To be honest, it was so dirty that i would have called the owner and demand that it be cleaned properly. I was so exhausted by the drive, though, that I couldn't deal with that.

Chalet could have been cleaner,

Unfortunately there was a bad smell of damp .

Bed and sofa uncomfortable.

Chalet not very clean.

Parking was a free for all , not as described in literature.

Great value

Despite outwards appearances this chalet is lovely. Clean, comfortable and really well equipped. It's a real bargain and conveniently placed for all that Dartmouth has to offer.

There are several award winning beaches within a ten minute drive, including Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands. A little further away are the popular resorts of Paignton and Torquay and the traditional fishing port of Brixham. For the more energetic the South Devon coast provides fantastic walking and spectacular scenery. A trip to the home of Agatha Christie perched high above the picturesque river Dart is a must! Various boat trips are available from Dartmouth.


A regular bus service stops outside of the park, providing links to Totnes and beyond. Several taxis operate from Dartmouth


There are many lovely places to visit close by - Dittisham 6 miles, Totnes 13 miles and Kingsbridge 14 miles to name a few. Plymouth is also within easy reach.

As well as the obvious attractions of historic Dartmouth with its fascinating harbour and famous Regatta, there are also plenty of independent shops, a wide range of good places to eat, and quayside pubs where you can sit and watch the world (and boats) go by. There is a M&S Food Store in Dartmouth, as well as a Sainsburys supermarket close to Norton Park. Woodlands Leisure Park is a short drive away.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Saturday, but may be flexible out of peak season. Arrival is after 2pm, and departure by 10am. Stays of less than a week may be available at certain times - please feel free to ask.
