A real gem of a getaway nestling at the foot of the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire this modern, clean 2 bedroom annex provides guests with a great rural retreat from which to explore the local area. We are right on the Worcestershire/Gloucestershire/Herefordshire border with all 3 cathedral city's within easy reach. Eastnor Castle is just a stones throw away with the pretty market town of Ledbury less than 10mins away. The Malvern Hills are on the doorstep and are popular with walkers, mountain bikers and those who love the great outdoors - sample the FREE spring water from over 30 wells dotted around the hills! Visit places which inspired Edward Elgar to write his music, or take in a show at the popular Malvern Theatre which attracts many big names from stage and screen. There is always something going on at the Three Counties Showground or down by the river at Upton Upon Severn with its numerous festivals. Less than 30 minutes away is the regency spa town of Cheltenham which is famous for its racing, fabulous for shopping, cultural and dining too. We are just 5 minutes off junction 2 of the M50 so not too remote. Fans of the BBC period drama Doctor Thorne? Visit Eastnor Castle which opens at Easter. The exterior was used as Courcy Castle and the interior as Boxhall Hill and Tyntesfield which is a National Trust property was used as Boxhall Hill exterior and is an hours drive away.

About Sara Nelmes

We purchased our house 'High Trees' which sits on 13 acres a couple of years ago having fallen in love with the setting despite viewing it on a cold, dark, damp January afternoon.

Since then we have renovated the main house and during this time we (mummy, daddy & 3 kids) all lived in the annex aka 'Low Trees' so can personally vouch for its comfortability, now it seems such as shame to not share it with others :-)

Notes on accommodation: Please be aware that there are a couple of ponds at our property the one nearest to the annex has been fenced off and at various times of the year there is livestock in the fields - ie lambs in Spring and the odd cow! Outside: There is a private fenced off garden at the rear of the property. Utility Room: Washing machine, iron & ironing board, hoover. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bedding and towels will be provided and will be made up on day of arrival. Other: Outside there is a table and chairs set and BBQ

First class bungalow & good location

The bungalow was well fitted out, very comfortable and modern. All the mod cons and easy access / parking. Sara and Matthew were very accommodating giving helpful tips for tourism and dining. The location could not be bettered, convenient for all the tourist spots and the important towns / cities. Even though the weather was variable we still managed to sit on the balcony ! We would highly recommend it for families and couples.

A Great Destination

The cottage is a delight and I would say the best we have stayed in. It is fresh and clean and very attractively decorated. The back door looks on to a raised veranda and the outlook is perfect. It is very well situated for exploring the Malverns. We particularly enjoyed a National Trust property at Croome with its fine walks and also Eastnor House which is very near and has beautiful gardens and a very interesting house. The towns of Ledbury, Tewkesbury with its Abbey and Great Malvern are also worth visiting. I totally recommend the tearooms at Tewkesbury Abbey and Great Malvern Priory.

Fantastic home away from home.

Sara's annexe is an amazing find for anyone travelling to the Malvern region. It was clean and well equipped with gorgeous views over the fields towards the hills. Sara was an excellent host - friendly, knowledgable and very accomodating of a late check in because of a late night flight. I couldn't recommend this property more highly and we cannot wait for our return.

Perfect holiday combination - peaceful location but with lots to do

We had such a lovely, relaxing week in this cosy, comfortable property. It feels as if you are in the middle of nowhere but you are literally only five minutes from the M50 giving easy access to Cheltenham, Gloucester and Worcester. It was also great to have the town of Ledbury close by with its little independent shops and places to eat and to have the Malvern hills on your doorstep for all levels of walking - lunch afterwards in Mac & Jac's in Malvern is a great way to round off a good walk. Gloucester Quays shopping outlet is good and you don't have to be religious to be amazed by Gloucester Cathedral which is wonderful inside. Holloways home and garden furniture in Suckley sells some lovely things and the food in their Glasshouse Cafe is excellent. Sara, Matt and their family were the perfect hosts - just such nice people and extremely friendly but without being intrusive. We would like to thank them again for the tasty bacon, sausages and eggs which we enjoyed for our breakfasts. We would have no hesitation in returning to this property and hope to do so in the future.

Lovely property, restful stay and delightful hosts.

We have just returned from a lovely 10 days’ stay at the bungalow at Berrow. The bungalow is very well and thoughtfully equipped, extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. Sara and family were delightful - extremely welcoming, really helpful and very informative and enthusiastic about the area.

The location is convenient for several interesting towns – eg Malvern, Hereford, Ledbury, and various attractions – walking in the Malvern Hills, Sudeley Castle (a bit longer journey but worth it, particularly for a wet day as there’s a lot to see inside the house and church), Tewkesbury Abbey, Croome, the Morgan Factory (tours available but need to be booked in advance, but well worth doing), Goodrich Castle (good audio tour, best done on a fine day as nearly all in the open).

We particularly enjoyed meals at the local pub (The Duke of York) – the food is really good pub fare and the staff are very friendly and welcoming; the Olive Tree in Ledbury has delicious Italian food and great service.

All in all a restful and enjoyable holiday in a lovely property.

Good, beds comfy, plenty of space for the four us who stayed - the bungalow had everything we needed and Sara/Matt made sure we didn't go without. Would Recommend.
