Bright country house with comfortable outdoor space with table and barbecue

Hello :-) my name is Katia and my husband Emilian manage the holiday house "Valley of the Olives". The newly renovated house is spacious, bright and simply furnished and functional to suit all your needs both space and comfort. The house is located in the countryside of PIGLIO town just 3 km from the city center and precisely in the "Moretto" district. The town is a characteristic medieval village dating back to the eleventh century, famous for its wine "Cesanese", winner of many national and international competitions.

The central location is ideal for reaching popular tourist destinations such as ROME (50 min.), NAPLES (1 hour and 30 min.), CASERTA (1 hour 15 min), FLORENCE (2 hours 45 min) Fiuggi (10 min.), Anagni (10 min.), Tivoli (35 min.), Ecc. And the new RAINBOW MAGICLAND and the Fashion Outlet Fashion Outlet quarter 15 minutes. The numerous towns in the area like the same town of Piglio are typical of medieval villages where walking through the alleys will be like going back in time.

The house has a reserved parking space and consists of:

- Entrance hall, living room with sofa, fireplace, TV, DVD player

- Large kitchen complete with appliances and dishes

- Double bedroom

- Room with 3 single beds

- Dressing room (which, if necessary, can accommodate 2 people)

- Full bath with shower.

The house can accommodate up to 9 people.

P.S. for stays from October 15 to April 30, the consumption of electricity and gas they will no longer be included but will be calculated cost of the actual consumption at the price of EUR 4.20 per cubic meter for gas and € 0.25 per kwh for the electrical energy.

The wood is not included in the price, an additional fee of EUR 20 will amount equates to settle will be provided that you see in the picture.

Oddly laid out property with noisy neighbours

Property is laid out in strange manner. 'Children's room' with 3 single beds has to be passed through to access main double room; and additional room with sofa bed (3rd room) has to be passed through to access bathroom. So from main bedroom you need to go through children's room, living room, kitchen and 3rd room to reach bathroom.

Facilities reasonably good with good range of crockery and cutlery, good oven and hob, and large fridge with reasonable sized box freezer. However there is NO KETTLE, and a sharp knife for cutting meat/cheese is lacking.

There is a large wardrobe in the double bedroom, which is full of blankets which had to be removed and put on floor in corner to allow us to hang up our clothes; this was not helped by a shortage of hangers. In the children's room there is an extremely small wardrobe which would not hold clothing for 1 child never mind 3, again filled with blankets.

Sheets provided for single bed were of a sort of nylon-like material - not good in the heat, and we ended up taking them off.

There is a ceiling fan in 2 bedrooms however the children's room one doesn't work and the main bedroom one only works with the light on. Another plug in fan would have been very welcome - there is no air conditioning and the whole property became extremely hot throughout the day and unbearable in the evening.

The outdoor seating area is located on the side of the house nearest to the road with no view. There is a lovely view on the other side of the property which is wasted - it can only be seen from the window of the 3rd room.

The tap water is not drinkable - this is not indicated anywhere and was not advised by owners (although this seems to be normal in Italy). Drinking water available from communal tap up steep hill, which stopped working half way through our stay and meant a 10 min drive for water.

Village not accessible from property without a car - would be at least 45 minute walk along road up very steep hills; even longer to reach village centre.

Despite rural location surprisingly noisy. Continual dogs barking and howling day and night. Neighbours using chainsaws at 6am and after 10pm. Tractors and grass cutters 6.30am. Neighbours talking and shouting on balconies until early hours of morning.

We arrived late having got lost and not eaten - owners friendly but not helpful. Did not offer any water or food, advised us that supermarket was closed.

Such a shame - could be a lovely place with a bit of thought, but too noisy.

Great Holiday Home

This is a wonderful holiday home for a family. I stayed here with my wife and 3 childern and we really enjoyed our stay. The house is clean and fresh with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. We had a car so we were able to do easy day trips to Pompei, Rome Rainbow MagicLand etc.

Wonderful house with very friendly and helpful owners. Would highly reccomend this house to anyone looking for a beautiful holiday home in the heart of the italian countryside.
