Bungalow between Redruth & Four Lanes. Down private lane off of Buller Hill, - Incredibly Peaceful, Central To The North And South Coasts, Giving A Choice Of The Best Beaches
About Anne Wills
We are Anne and Graham and have owned Buller Farm for over 14 years and run it as an equestrian yard. When we bought the farm the house and the land was semi-derelict and it took several years to clear the fields and re build the farm house. It has been worth all of the hard work as it is incredibly peaceful and beautiful. We built Badgers Holt on the site of the old milking parlour and finished it in May 2014. We love to share the tranquillity of our home and ask that you respect the peace and quite, it is not the place for loud music, We look forward to meeting you and hope we can help you to have a relaxing and refreshing holiday and like us you will fall in love with this 'Piece of Heaven'.
Why Anne Wills chose Redruth
It's simply unique, people just love the setting and tell us we are so lucky to live here. The icing on the cake is the nightly visits to the garden by the badgers, all of our guests have been thrilled to get such a close up view of them.

A wonderful week at Badgers Holt
Anne and Graham welcomed us warmly to the building, and they provided everything we needed at the house. The building has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. Each bedroom had plenty of room for us and with everything being on a single floor it would make it ideal for those with mobility issues. The house comes complete with washing machine, dryer, dish washer, a barbeque, televisions. In the bathroom there is a power shower and a bath so it suited our needs.
After the initial greeting and walkaround the house, Anne and Graham left us to ourselves, only asking if we wanted a badger alert - and that is the main attraction here. The owners are clearly animal lovers. In the morning you can watch a variety of British garden birds feeding on the feeders. We saw most commonly seen garden birds as well as a lesser spotted woodpecker. At dusk, from the front window you can see badgers, throughout our stay we saw between 2-4 badgers every night. On the last night we saw two foxes as well.
If you're exploring Cornwall, Badgers Holt is a great base to start from. Just outside of Redruth, it's a few minutes from there to the A30, the main road through Cornwall. My family and I loved Badgers Holt and we can't wait to stay there again.
Thank you so much for your review, it is always lovely to have guests staying who enjoy the animals and the countryside as much as we do.
We look forward to seeing you again in the future.
Best wishes, Anne and Graham
wonderful place to stay
Very nice house, very nice owners, quiet location, badgers as neighbors, good place to stay for discovering Cornwall
A wonderful holiday
What to say that hasn't already been said by previous reviewers? Well, we loved our stay at Badger's Holt. The cottage was clean, well-equipped, comfortable. The back garden was perfect for our 2.5 yr old to run around in (there are some stone steps up to the lawn, but for safety we were able to just block them off with the garden chairs to avoid little legs running down them). Anne and Graham were lovely hosts - they were engaging with our little boy, which made the stay more special for him. They checked with us regularly to ensure everything was ok, but not in an intrusive way. And the wildlife - well, such a special thing to be able to see badgers up close. Anne kept the bird feeders well stocked too - I've never seen so many goldfinches in my life!
We were out and about on day trips most days and found the central location convenient. Most places we visited were no more than 20/30 mins away. But the time we did spend at the cottage was very relaxing and peaceful. A lovely little part of the world...
Magical Hidden Gem
The property is very clean and comfortable. There are all the amenities you need in the kitchen. The cottage is also a lot more spacious than it appears in the photos. It has the added extras of a HUGE variety of wild life, including birds, foxes, rabbits, and of course, the stars of each evening show, The Badgers! They were brilliant to watch.
Anne and Graham gave us a very warm and friendly greeting on our arrival, with a gift of a cream tea, fresh milk in the fridge, and eggs from their own chickens. They are a lovely couple, who have worked very hard in making this property the best holiday cottage we have stayed in.
Because of its beautiful secluded position, it makes the perfect place for a total relaxing break, whilst being centrally positioned if you want to explore Cornwall.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and hope to return again in the future.
So please that you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your lovely review. It is always gratifying to hear that we have got things right here, we have tried to think of everything and do ask our guests to let us know if there is anything that they think we should add.
The Badgers are stars aren't they, after all these years I still love to watch them.
I do hope that we see you again soon.
Thank you and best wishes,
Anne and Graham
Secluded cottage in farm
We had a relaxing stay watching badgers from our front window in the evening. The cottage has excellent facilities, esp. a good shower! Hospitality from the owners, who live next door, was wonderful. We went home with farm eggs.
Your enthusiasm for the Cornish countryside was wonerful. You must have been exhausted by your long coastal walks every day but still had energy to go for walks from the farm. Hope we have the pleasure of you staying again, there is still a lot of Cornwall to enjoy.
Comfortable and peaceful stay
Comfortable cottage in quiet location.
We loved watching the badgers every evening and it was lovely to meet the horses.
Very welcoming and friendly hosts
So pleased that you enjoyed your stay even though the weather wasn't brilliant. Thank you for your positive comments.
Of the 40+ reviews, we have over three sites this is the first in which we have not reached 5*. I would be very grateful if you could let me know what we could have done to make your stay 5* I am aware that you told us that the television in the sitting room wouldn't tune but Graham visited you within 5 minutes and re-tuned it. Also after you left we found the remote control for the TV children's room wasn't working but on inspection, we found the batteries were back to front. No idea how that happened. We have made a note to check it at change overs.
The North Coast can be seen from Buller Farm and is approximately 5 miles away, with Falmouth on the South Coast being approximately 7 miles. All the beaches on both coasts are within easy reach by car. It is approx. 10 miles to Gwithian's miles of sandy beaches ideal for swimming or surfing and less to Newquay's famous surfing beaches.
As this is a rural area transport is essential.
The old mining town of Redruth is 5 minutes down the hill by car. Towns such as St Agnes, St Ives, Falmouth, Penzances, Newquay and Truro are all between 15 and 30 minutes by car. The world famous Eden Project is approx. 30 minutes as are The Lost Gardens of Heligan. There are many other gardens and tourist attractions close by as well as the beautiful countryside to explore and the ruins of Cornish tin mine engine houses which are now listed as a World Heritage Site.
Leaflets giving information on local places of interest are supplied and Anne and Graham are on hand to help if they are able.
