Dunstone near South Pool, Slapton and Torcross Nr Kingsbridge, South Devon, England - Peaceful Location 1 - 2 Mile To Hallsands, Beesands, Llannacomble Bay Coastal Path

Converted Dairy dates back to 1550 situated half a mile up a narrow lane, three miles from the A379 - Kingsbridge to Dartmouth road. A peaceful haven surrounded by beaches and coastal walks 25 minutes walk to coastal paths and local pubs. The cottage is very rural and quiet, hardly any cars passing and yet within 2 miles you are near all local shops and pubs. Cottage has a Large conservatory with built in BBQ and private gardens with decking area with uninterrupted views of rolling hills .It has has a modern interior with a homely feel with a multi fuel stove in the lounge, fully equipped and is south facing, off road parking. Owners live nearby.

Situated 4 miles from Kingsbridge, 7 miles from Dartmouth, our favourite place, and 5 miles from Salcombe estuary via passenger ferry.

About Shirley Marsh

We moved to Devon in 1977 and brought up our two children. We started off in Dartmouth and then found this lovely barn. We really try to meet all our guests needs and are happy to give helpful advice on placing to visit and love meeting lots of people. We both work in the tourist trade, Shirley works in local hotel as a Therapist and Terry launches and recovers boats in the Salcombe estuary, although very shortly we will be retiring.

Why Shirley Marsh chose South Hams

We love this rural location with its rolling hills and love sitting in the garden watching the Buzzards up in the thermals, foxes creeping across the fields and often you can see deer in hills. We love the fact that of a night time there is no light pollution so the stars are magnificent and our guest often comment on the wonder of the stars and they often can be seen sitting on the decking with a glass of wine, stargazing.

Property dates back to 1550 and has an old world charm with beautiful views over the rolling hills. Is on a spit of land so there is a choice of beaches of your choice either shingle or sand. Extremely peaceful and tranquil

There is a feed back book available to read in cottage. Everyone loves the use of the conservatory and nearness of beaches and still retaining its peaceful location,

not overloaded with tourists in immediate location. Love the local coastal walks with affordable cafes positioned along the path on route.

lovely late-summer break

Friendly hosts and cosy cottage. An adventure arriving through lanes with plants brushing against both sides of our Citroen C5.

But the consequent peaceful location worth the trip.

The conservatory was good, giving a more spacious feel to the property. All well-equipped with relaxing feel to sitting room.

Coast/Beach:

Local and walkable from Cottage is Hallsands and Beesands shingle beaches 2 miles leading to coastal walks and Pubs. Start Point Lighthouse is a circular walk and often seals can be seen here sitting on the rock close in. At Millbay sandy soft sandy beach 5 miles with cafe and conveniences. Here you can hop on the ferry boat (passenger) across to Salcombe. Also at Millbay there is a circular walk through the National Trust car park up to Gara Rock Hotel. The Hotel is high up and from the restaurant and sun terrace you have spectacular views.

Torcross/Slapton sands is one and half miles. Beautiful walks here as you have 3 miles of beach one side and on the other side of the road is a Ley where you find a circular walk and bird watching. Natural surroundings.

Bantham Beach 11 miles is where you will find sand dunes soft sandy beach and surfing. Hope Cove 12 miles very pretty here old world charm with its thatched cottages small sandy coves and rock pools .

Blackpool sands 7 miles is a place for old and young, and lovely beach restaurant, all facilities, a raft anchored out at sea to encourage you to swim out and rest, catch some sun.

Travel:

Nearest airport Exeter. Nearest train station Totnes 13 miles nearest ferry port Plymouth 25 miles.

Distances:

Tesco, Sainsbury, Waitrose all deliver to cottage. Nearest Town with Supermarkets and shops, Kingsbridge miles. Nearest shopping mall Plymouth 25 miles. Nearest pub The Millbrook Inn South Pool 1.5 miles, walkable. A very pretty village, run by locals , often find the Morris Men dancing here. When there is a high tide the landlord takes over the village and gets the BBQ going and often the paella . Stepping stones cross the estuary amongst dear quaint little cottages and this village always wins the best kept village award.

At the Woodlands Farmily Theme Park, 8 miles you find a great family day out. Toboggan runs, clowns, water shutes, commando courses for all ages, mega slides, boating lakes, indoor and outdoor play area and soft play areas and animal centre.

Paignton Zoo 22 miles and Plymouth Aquarium 25 miles.

Further Details:

Quick shop on A379 garage and Ashby Easy Store 4 miles. Bakery at Frogmore

A really good local butcher, cafe 1 1/2 miles you will find Stokeley Barton Farm Shop at Torcross.

Good running routes around cottage with lots off road running. Surf hire and equipment locally. paddle boarding in Kingsbridge estuary.
