Our beautifully created Carisbrooke Apartment is our largest apartment with stunning views from the kitchen/diner and lounge over award winning Ventnor Park. Fully equipped for self catering with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, Nespresso coffee machine and a high quality finish, it is a light and relaxing environment with a high quality finish. With 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a lounge with wood burning stove, 1 sofa and 1 sofa bed and a separate kitchen/dinner, a 50inch TV and DVD player, iPod/ CD player, selection of books and games all with your comfort and enjoyment in mind. The Carisbrooke is suitable for couples who just want a bit more space to relax in or families with well behaved children over the age of 12.

Centrally located, we offer a perfect base for the beach and the cosmopolitan town of Ventnor just a 10 minutes’ stroll away. Ventnor’s popular shingle and sand beach - where freshly caught fish of the day can be purchased at the marina - is about 5 minutes’ walk downhill.

Blackgang Chine is nearby, the oldest themed attraction in the UK, and within easy reach are The Needles and Alum Bay. Attractions include Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Isle of Wight Pearl, Dinosaur Isle, a donkey sanctuary and Calbourne Water Mill which has a 17th-century working watermill. Osborne House and Gardens (Queen Victoria’s holiday residence), and Carisbrooke Castle are a short distance away. The sailing towns of Yarmouth and Cowes, and the popular resorts of Shanklin and Sandown are nearby. The Isle of Wight was never a place I thought we would call home until a surprise birthday trip organised by Robert for my birthday.

We fell in love with the beauty of Ventnor and by chance spotted Clarence House in the window of a local estate agent.........

And so here we are.

With our Elegant, Victorian Manor House in the heart of Ventnor with 4 holiday apartments and gorgeous views over Ventnor Park.

We hope by sharing this stunning house and it's location you too will fall in love with Ventnor re-styled and re-discovered.

We fell in love with Ventnor and the friendliness of "The Islanders".

It truly has a different feel from the mainland and yet is only 1/2 an hour away by Catamaran or Ferry.

A drive through the country lanes brings lots of Ohhhs and Ahhhs at the beauty of the surrounding countryside and the quaint thatched villages.

A superb destination for walkers, cyclists or the hearty tri-athletes. There is much to be seen on the Coastal Path with striking chalk geology featuring heavily here in the south. There are great views out to sea and many interesting places to visit, reflecting the island's heritage and royal patronage over the years. Isle of Wight boasts many wonderful cycling and riding routes around the island's dramatic coast line with varying degrees of difficulty.

We provide all bedding and towels along with a fully equipped kitchen. There is also secure lock-up storage for bikes and walking equipment.

Booking Notes:
Deposit is 25% of the tariff rate plus an extra £100 security deposit, to formally secure the booking for you. Balance and/or full rental payment must be received 6 weeks before arrival date.
Telephone reservations will be held for 48 hours and officially confirmed once we have received your completed Booking Form and payment
Should you book within 6 weeks of your arrival date, the full balance is due.
There is a £100 security deposit that is refunded after your departure,
barring any damages. (See conditions and information attached to your booking information) This is paid and returned by bank transfer.
Payment can be made by either bank transfer, or PayPal which ever suites you best. But please be aware that paying by PayPal incurs a fee that You need to pay if you are using your credit card; Paypal charges are 3.4% of the total cost of your booking + 20p. You will need to add theses charges to the holiday cost to the amount charged by us.

Changeover Day:
Weekly bookings arrival is Friday. Weekend bookings are Friday - Monday. Mid week bookings Monday-Friday

Departure by 10am
In the low season if possible change over days and timings may be flexible. But please do check with us first.

Notes on accommodation: Please bear in mind that Ventnor is a steeply sloping town from the hills at St Boniface Down toward the sea, and therefor so is Clarence House. We have slowly graduating steps up to the house, and slightly steeper ones around through the garden to the Apartments. It is not suitable for the mobility impaired and there is unfortunately no wheelchair access. It is also not suitable for small children and therefore we have a minimum age limit of 12 years old Outside: The sheltered location of Ventnor on the cliff of the Island's south coast means we experiences a microclimate with more sunny days than much of the British Isles, and fewer frosts. This has allowed many species of subtropical plant to be successfully planted and maintained. Do not be surprised to see growing in the garden plants that are native to New Zeland or the Canary Islands. Osborne Apartment at Clarence House has use of a lovely secluded sun trap garden with tables and chairs to enjoy afternoon tea or a glass of wine

Wonderful spacious apartment

We loved the apartment, the location directly opposite Ventnor Park, and within easy walking distance of the town and Steephill Cove was perfect. The owners were really welcoming and the apartment itself is beautifully decorated and very spacious with wonderfully high ceilings. We would defitnitely stay again and recommend the apartment to our friends!

A warm welcome to a beautiful apartment

We have just had our family Christmas here, while visiting relatives on the island. The location is excellent - quiet, yet within a stone's throw of Ventnor beach and shops - with easy street parking. We received a lovely festive 'welcome pack' on arrival, and the apartment was beautifully decorated with trees and lights. It's a spacious place for four, which we appreciate with two teenage boys, and the second bathroom was especially welcome. The kitchen/dining room was both sociable and a joy to cook in - superbly equipped. Comfy beds and a cosy lounge too. Thank you for a really comfortable stay!

Delightful apartment

Very well appointed, comfortable and well maintained apartment. Location is good, overlooking the park and not far to walk into Ventnor for evening meals. Gillian was away whilst we were there but Emma who met us was very friendly and helpful.

What a beautiful apartment. So comfortable and spacious. It's in a quiet road with the park just across the way. No need to take bedding and towels which is a great plus. Gillian and Robert made us feel very welcome.

Lovely apartment

A lovely apartment, in a really convenient location. We really enjoyed ourselves (our third visit to the IoW) and would recommend the Spyglass and Cantina (restaurants), Tackt-Isle (kayak and sailing courses), Bembridge Windmill, Carisbrooke Castle, Alum Bay and the Needles, Wight Karting, the Botanic garden and Ventnor beach.

Special interest holidays:

Of special interest is the vast array of cycling, walking and swimming spots on the Island.With advice and information available from Robert who is a keen cyclist and open water swimmer.


More than half the Isle of Wight has been designated an Area of Outstanding Beauty, and there are 65 miles of coastline to explore. Along the more beautiful south coast there's a beach to suit everyone. A 5 min stroll down the winding path and through the cascading gardens, you are on the golden beachfront of Ventnor, which has something of a riviera feel. The tide is strong here, but the beach itself is clean, mainly sandy, easily accessible, and has rockpools to poke around in at either end.


There are several ways to get onto the Island. From Lymington,Southampton and Portsmouth both Red Funnel and WightLink provide a very good ferry service.

Distance from Ryde or Fishbourne to Ventnor is apprx 12 miles of lovely countryside driving. ( or cycling for the more adventurous )


We are in the heart of Ventnor so all amenities are accessible by walking.
