Fully refurbished Spring 2014, Clare Cottage is a traditional Lakeland stone built terraced cottage situated centrally in the beautiful village of Ambleside. With accommodation over 3 floors, the cottage provides ample space for 6. There are magnificent views to the front and rear of the property from the upper levels and with all the amenities of Ambleside on your doorstep, including shops & restaurants as well as walks for all abilities, a car is not essential.

Fantastic place

My parents stayed in November. They said the place was perfect. Lovely clean cottage with everything you could need. Cosy log fire. Location is brilliant. They will definitely be returning in the future.

Excellent cottage in the heart of Ambleside

We have been to several cottages on our trip around the UK, and this was by far the best. The property was furnished to a high standard, and it is situated in the heart of Ambleside. It is not a a main road, so it was really quiet. We couldn't park immediately outside the cottage, but there was lots of on street parking not far away. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

Family weekend away

The cottage was absolutely beautiful and in a great location. We all had a fantastic weekend away. The only downside is the parking outside the cottage. However Jacqui had been very helpful in leaving information about car parks nearby which were reasonably priced.

Excellent Quality

We thought Clare Cottage was very well equipped and clean and in an ideal location . I would imagine there will be continued parking problems especially with 3 new cottages in Compston Street being built. Only one other criticism, but it's been well documented and I hate bringing it up but you have asked, is the bad design of the dining chairs.

Lovely cottage - Excellent location

Clare Cottage was an excellent choice for us. It was spacious, clean, nicely furnished and with very good facilities (and the details of walks from Ambleside, and the board games just for a change of entertainment, were welcome additions!). It's also excellently positioned, being very centrally located in Ambleside but nicely tucked away in a smaller street. Yes, parking right outside isn't always possible but the long stay car parks are close by and reasonably priced so it really wasn't a problem. The booking and payment arrangements worked well and communication with Jacqui was also very good.

This was our first family holiday in the Lakes and we'd love to return to Clare Cottage and see more of this wonderful part of the country.

Ideal place to stay in Ambleside

The cottage is very central to everything in Ambleside, well laid out with ample room for the 6 of us, there is everything you need to make your stay comfortable, looking to book again for next year.

Change over day for a full week is Friday during the peak season and either Friday or Monday at other times. Short breaks run from Friday to Monday or Monday to Friday.

The £100 damages deposit will be refunded within 7 days of the end of the stay.

Prices may be subject to change at the owners discretion but will not be altered once a booking has been confirmed.
