‘Mowhay Barn', a detached luxury barn conversion in a beautiful countryside setting 6 miles from Boscastle, North Cornwall. Widemouth Bay and Crackington Haven excellent sandy beaches are both 5 miles, with Bude beach resort 9 miles. Famous coastal Tintagel with 'King Arthur's Castle' perched on the cliff is 8 miles. This is one of the most spectacular and rugged stretches of coastline in Cornwall, miles of Nat Trust coastal walks, a favourite with walkers. ‘Mowhay Barn' is one of a small number of cottages on a quieter country lane. Great attention was taken in the conversion to retain the character of the original stone building, retaining original features such as exposed beams. French doors from bedroom 1 lead onto a rear patio with garden furniture. Lawn garden. The cottage is on a sheep and beef farm, with a pretty, circular footpath leading from the cottage to a tiny stream and coarse fishing lake (free fishing) and back to the cottage. There is an enclosed spacious children’s farm play area with swings, climbing frame etc - as shown in our photos. Adjacent off the road parking for 2 or more cars. 1 dog welcome (farm lane leading from cottage, circular walk, ideal for exercising the dog). The cottage is all ground floor accommodation but also has top windows because of the feature high ceiling. 15 miles to Port Isaac (T,V. s Doc Martin country).

Bedroom 1 has 1 double bed & en-suite shower room with shower unit, washbasin & toilet. Bedroom 2 has 1 double bed (french windows onto decked patio). Bedroom 3 has 2 single beds. 1 fold up Z bed available for either bedroom 1 or 3. Large open plan living area. Kitchen/dining area with an electric oven, hob unit, microwave, fridge, freezer & dishwasher. Lounge area with T.V., DVD and feature woodburner. Bathroom with bath, overhead shower, toilet & washbasin.

Linen inclusive. Under floor central heating inclusive. Also a feature woodburner in living area (first basket of logs free, other baskets supplied at reasonable charge). Electric inclusive. Cot & High Chair.

Non-smoking. Parking in driveway for 2 cars and other parking area. 1 dog welcome.

Special interest holidays:

Free coarse fishing is available on the farm's small natural stream fed lake, reached by a pretty and short footpath walk leading from the cottage. There are various species of coarse fish, with the lake being periodically restocked. Upon buying the farm the owners were surprised to find that the lake had been populated with coarse fish and a few small trout quite naturally- the coarse fish probably from the feet of migratory birds such as storks which visit the lake occasionally. Keen naturalists may be lucky enough to be able to spot various wildlife; including kingfishers and other birds attracted to the lake. The lake is also an excellent venue for picnics. During the summer, the lane down to the lake and its surroundings are a delightful profusion of wild flowers.

The cottage is 7 miles from Bude beach resort and only 6 miles from Boscastle, North Cornwall. Crackington Haven sandy beach is 5 miles. Widemouth Bay beaches 5 miles. Tintagel, with its small beach and ‘King Arthur’s Castle’ is 8 miles.

A picturesque rural setting in the hamlet of Warbstow, 6 miles from Boscastle fishing village, 7 miles from Bude. Nearest pub with food is about 2 miles.

Continue along the marked route through the fields and back to the cottage. The farm has an impressive enclosed children’s farm play area with swings, climbing frame etc. An adjoining building with 2 washing machines, 1 dryer-£1 coin meter. Utility Room: An adjoining building with 2 washing machines, 1 dryer-£1 coin meter. Bed linen is supplied inclusive.

Our Short break at Morhay Barn this week

My son -wife and myself with dogs have just returned from a short break here and were really impressed with this barn conversion. It was immaculate -everything was as described - clean attractive -comfortable - with fully equipped kitchenette for dining in- which we did on two occasions and enjoyed a lovely roast ! - everyone we met was friendly and we so enjoyed the farming aspect too coming from somerset !! Great base also for seeing the coastal beauty spots. The whole place was restful and quiet - a place to recharge the batteries as they say! Would most definitely come here again and would recommend it - it even had a super games selection in the cupboard ! No internet though and bad signal for mobiles although I found a little spot out on the patio!
