Cleveland’s Country House offers good quality self-catering accommodation. All accommodation is tastefully decorated and extremely well equipped to create a cosy, informal and relaxed atmosphere. The grand entrance hall of the country house leads into the elegantly sumptuous lounge, relax in front of the warming log fire on restful, cosy leather sofas. Imagine alfresco dining, BBQ’s, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the company of a group of friends/family with space for everyone to enjoy. I live in an area of outstanding natural beauty, the scenery around is breathtakingly beautiful. Perfect for walking, cycling and sightseeing.

I have three gorgeous, occasionally naughty, friendly dogs that enjoy their walks on the Downs or on one of the islands secluded beaches.

The island is easy to access from Southampton, Portsmouth or Lymington. Incredibly easy journey from Heathrow or Gatwick.

The property was perfect for holiday accommodation, in addition to the house, is a two bedroom apartment Dubarry Downs and a one bedroom apartment Hunter Heights.

Perfect for hosting large families, groups of friends, small families and couples.

What makes this house unique

The property is located in Wroxall well hidden down a private country lane. Easy stroll into the village with a small shop.

The views across the downs are fabulous. The property is a couple of minutes from the Sunshine & Red Squirrel Trails both popular for cycling, walking and horse riding.

Notes on accommodation: Shared laundry facilities are available which include a washing machine and dryer, plus ironing facilities. There is also a shared drying room for boots and outdoor wear and a secure bike storage and wash down facilities. The BBQ area and outdoor seating area give you spectacular panoramic views, so imagine yourselves reclining and enjoying the long summer evenings and total relaxation. Please note during the peak summer months that our accommodation operate on weekly lets. Please feel free to make enquiries and if there is availability we will try wherever possible to be flexible. Outside: The country house kitchen leads onto a large patio, with access to barbecue and garden furniture to seat ten guests. Some facilities are shared with other guests i.e. laundry, drying room, lockable cycle storage and hose down area. There is outside seating for all accommodation and BBQ facilities.

Super house, lovely and spacious and very welcoming owner

We were a group of four ladies and eight children and the house worked really well. The house is a very short drive from Ventnor. I don't think anyone booking this house would be disappointed as it is delightful and well equipped.

Perfect setting for a perfect weekend!

A fabulous place for a group stay!

We stayed at Clevelands House for a hen weekend and really could not have asked for more. Marie was so helpful and everything about the house was perfect. The kitchen and lounge area were ideal for group activities, the bedrooms were spacious and beautifully decorated and everything we could possibly want was thought about. Thanks for a fantastic few days!

Outstanding in every way

This group of girlfriends chose Clevelands Country House for our annual weekend away. We made a terrific choice, the house is lovely. Spacious and beautifully decorated with lots of extra touches like lovely toiletries and plenty of towels and kitchen equipment. Marie couldn't have been more helpful both during the booking process and during the weekend. The five bedrooms are large and comfortable, views are great and the house is beautifully proportioned. We took advantage of Marie's catering on the Friday night and enjoyed a wonderful three course meal at our leisure - it was great not to have to do our own cooking after the journey! There's plenty of parking and lovely gardens. We thoroughly recommend Clevelands as a great place to stay for any type of trip to the Isle of Wight.

The Red Squirrel Trail is couple of minutes walk away, perfect for those who are keen to cycle, walk or horse ride. The trail is along the old Wroxall railway line and goes to Shanklin. Wroxall is also on the Round the Island cycle route. The Extreme Chalk ridge is closeby for those avid mountain bikers!


Ventnor, Shanklin and Sandown with their beautiful beaches are all within a ten minute drive.


Wroxall is a thirty minute drive from East Cowes or Fishbourne car ferry ports. Yarmouth is approximately forty minutes drive away.

Cleveland's is well placed in an area of outstanding natural beauty for cycling and hiking holidays or if you prefer sight seeing by car. The beautiful beaches of Ventnor and Shanklin are closeby ideal for keeping the kids happy!

Local supermarkets are in Lake approximately 5 miles or Ventnor approx 3 miles. Wroxall village has a Spar with cash point machine, post office and pub.

Changeover Day:
Check in is 16.00 hours and check out is 10.00 hours.

Early check in and late check out requests will incur an additional hourly fee £20 per hour payable in advance.

Additional Guests over 10 people (includes adults, children and babies) incurs £15 per night. Absolute maximum number of 12 guests allowed. I also have apartments that may be available priced separately. call 07450580174

PLEASE NOTE - SO THERE IS NO MISUNDERSTANDING - If there is abuse over maximum number of guests this will result in immediate cancellation of the booking non refundable. Simply as this is a fire safety issue, causes excessive wear & tear and increase in utility consumption etc.

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
