wonderful place to relax
Ideal for touring the border towns or just chilling out watching the rabbits playing on the lawn. The owner was friendly and helpful and it all added up to a lovely time.
Wonderful retreat in the countryside
Highly recommendable in particular for families with children who will find ample space to run around and play. Big private lawn/garden. Very good also for longer restful stays especially if you like to explore the area on foot and by bike. Feels like a home away from home. No Wifi though. Perfect for a very restful holiday. Cottage is much more beautiful than on the pictures. Kind hosts.
Lovely location to get away from it all. Cottage is surrounded by mature trees and has a lawned green in front so plenty of birds and rabbits to watch. Owners encouraged us to explore with our son, so we visited the river, saw saw the sheep and ran around in the “secret” walled garden full of fruit and veg. Comfy beds, big bath, good shower and enormous towels. Kitchen has everything you need and they’ve even included a slim line dishwasher which is a welcome addition to any holiday home. Master bedroom is huge so plenty of room for a travel cot (provided) for our younger son and all our bags. Second bedroom is compact, but had two full singles. Every room had beautiful fresh flowers from the garden. Thank you for a lovely stay!
Short stay at Menslaws
Enjoyed a very comfortable stay
The cottage is ideally situated for visiting Jedburgh, Hawick and Kelso.
Nearby picturesque Denholme has a couple of nice friendly pubs and there is also a lovely Italian restaurant.
The cottage was well equipped and beautifully situated on the farm. We walked the farm, fished the river and visited the lovely walled garden. All in all a lovely 3 day break. Thanks to Marjorie for a most enjoyable stay.
A lovely quiet spot
We enjoyed our week's stay at Stable Cottage. It was a quiet place to relax and refresh. We appreciated being able to wander round the farm. WiFi access would have been nice but there was excellent 4G coverage.
Comfortable and well provided for with nice sunny garden.
