About the property

Peaceful location 10 minutes drive from Sandbanks beach

Our holiday home Taverner is a 2 bedroom terrace house in the peaceful area of Poole known as Baiter Park just a few yards from the water edge and 10 minutes walking distance of bustling Poole Quay with its restaurants, pavement cafes and bars, yet quiet at night. The house is located just four miles from the famous beaches at Sandbanks with other sandy beaches a little further.

The house consists of a double room and a twin room. A folding bed can be provided for a 5th person. The beds are all made up on your arrival with hotel quality bed linen. The bathroom consists of a full size bath with power shower with glass screen, toilet and wash basin. The kitchen has been recently refurbished with breakfast bar and includes washing machine, dish washer, fridge, freezer, built in oven with hob. It contains all the facilities need for your stay including microwave, toaster etc.

The kitchen leads to the private secluded south facing courtyard with table and chairs and BBQ.

The lounge has a flat screen TV, free Wi-Fi, two 2 seater leather sofas, dining table and 4 chairs.

The local park, beach and children's' play area is walking distance from the house. The blue flag beaches of Poole at Sandbanks and the National Trust beaches at Studland are a short drive away. Poole is a haven for watersports such as sailing, windsurfing, surfing, kitesurfing, waterskiing and wake boarding. Poole Harbour is ideal for birdwatchers of all ages. The apartment would suit couples or those looking for a family holiday or as a base for walking or cycling.

Dorset's attractions are the mild climate, golden sandy beaches, beautiful coastline and countryside. It's weather is favourable, Dorset having amongst the most sunshine hours per year in the UK.

There are the dramatic ruins of Corfe Castle (National Trust), the Swanage Steam Railway, the long sandy beaches of Studland and the fascinating Sandbanks Chain Ferry (single car crossing approx £3) within a short distance.

Poole has 41 miles of cycle network and the various routes cater for all ages and abilities of cyclists.

Brownsea Island, a National Trust property, can be accessed via regular pleasure boat from Poole Quay, where you can also find boats to neighbouring Swanage, Bournemouth, and Sandbanks.

Dorset is a lovely county with so much to do and to see. Poole is very central with easy access to so many activities and places to see.

Some of our guests arrive by train which is just 15 minutes walk or a short taxi journey. They can explore the area by public transport with the main bus station just 10 minutes walk away.

Dorset provides such a range of fantastic attractions; you’ll never find yourself struggling to find things to do whatever you’re interested in. The variety of Dorset attractions is such it’s impossible to list them all.

Dorset boasts some of the best family attractions that you will find anywhere. Puff your way through the picturesque Purbeck hills on one of Swanage Railway’s classic steam trains. A memorable day out for young and old.

The kids will love a day out at Moors Valley Country Park, set in 1000 acres of parkland and woods, there is so much to explore. See if you’ve got a head for heights with the tree top walk ways and conquer the high wire adventure.

If you’re looking for some animal fun then we’ve got that covered! Head over to Farmer Palmers Farm Park for a whole day of farmyard fun in the beautiful Dorset countryside. Your little ones will be well and truly worn out after a day of demonstrations, animal handling, tractor rides, bouncing, play area…the list goes on!

If you’re looking for something a little different why not go trekking with a llama or walking with a donkey?? Have a day of Monkeying around at Monkey World, the world renowned ape rescue centre with hundreds of rescued and endangered apes and monkey.

If you prefer your day to go at a more relaxed pace Dorset still has plenty to interest you.

Dorset is home to some of the most fascinating and beautiful stately homes and gardens. Stroll around these magnificent homes and unearth their hidden histories and soak up the Dorset sunshine while discovering the wonderful gardens.

This was one of the nicest holidays I have had. The weather was perfect, the accommodation was lovely, clean and ideally situated for everything we wanted. Short walk to Poole Quay which we did every evening. Friendly pubs on front. Themed evenings. Lovely sitting out in the garden having our morning coffee. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others. Thank you.

Easy to book, a stones throw from the water front, and within walking distance of the many bars and restaurants of Poole. Very nice, clean property, with all you could need for a trip away from home. Dorset Itself is a beautiful area, with lots of places to go and explore.



Was sad to leave at the end as you don't feel that you're living in a holiday home as it has that homely feel which makes you settle into the place very quickly. Everything is provided (bar towels) and is of a high standard.

Notes:
Outside: Out the back of our house there is a south facing courtyard where you can park your car and small patio area with table and chairs and a BBQ . In addition to the private parking space there are a number of visitor spaces in the close. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen is included and the beds will be made up upon your arrival. Towels can be provided for a small additional charge. The property is cleaned before your arrival.

Holiday at 28 Taverner Close @ Poole

We had a lovely week (although went a tad quick). Absolutely lovely property, very central to everything. Bedding amazingly clean and fresh. All the little extras in there that you may forget which some places don't do. Owners were very helpful - we would definitely recommend and return again.

Lovely modern property close to Poole front and main shops.

Just arrived home after a week here. Had a fantastic stay. We are a party of 2a2c(5yrs). Excellent location for Poole front and shops and easy position to get to main road for short drive to Sandbanks (where we spent our beach time). First time in this area and will happily return as so much more to see. Took advantage of our new NT membership too. Owner responded quickly to any questions we had. Whole family loved our week here! Thank you!

Lovely week in Poole

Very comfortable and has everything you need for a break. Very much as advertised. The area is quiet and the parking arrangements are excellent. The house is close enough to most areas of Poole to allow for walking around. Poole park is a few minutes away as is the waterfront. A bit further afield is the quay and the main shopping areas. Easy access to supermarkets and the road network. All in all, very nice. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

Clean, Quiet Location close to the beach

We stayed with our young son - house had a chair gate and high chair and plenty of room in the spare room for travel bed. The house its self is clean and in a good location with a short walk to the beach and easy access to the surrounding areas. We would stay again.

Good location for accessing all amenities

We enjoyed our stay in Poole and it was very convenient to have Poole Park so close. The local swimming pool was within easy walking distance and visits to Bournemouth, Swanage and Corfe were easy driving distances.

We did feel, however, that the property could have been a little cleaner in places. We also were under the impression that there was a BBQ at the property but we couldn't find one. Maybe, it was just a BBQ area in the back courtyard! Which was a nice secluded area.

We have communicated since your review and I understand “the house was generally clean just some of the surfaces upstairs were quite dusty especially bedside tables and lamps. I am sorry about the BBQ not being provided; I had wrongly thought it was too early to put this out. You said you had a lovely holiday and these were only minor issues and they would not stop you using our property again and you would be very welcome. David

Great location; lovely property.

The location of the property was absolutely superb in a quiet residential location! Only minutes walk from marina with lots of pubs, restaurants and shops near by but easy to drive out of Poole to visit other areas. The property was well maintained, clean and spacious. A great location in a lovely part of the world.

The nearby beaches include the award winning Sandbanks beach, Canford Cliffs and Branksome Chine all of which are a short drive away.
