Large sitting/dining/kitchen room - electric cooker,dishwasher,fridge/freezer, well equipped kitchen. T.V. with sat box, DVD and video player (video tapes available). CD/radio/tape player. Well stocked games cupboard. Room 1 - double bed with walk in shower room, Room 2 -twin beds with en- suite bathroom with over bath shower, Room 3 - twin or zip together king size with en- suite shower, Room 4- twin beds with en-suite bathroom, plus mezzanine floor( limited head room -4") with 1 single bed and 2 single mattresses room ( great fun for older children 5 to 14 years) Cot/High chair & zed bed available. There is also a utility room with washing machine, sink and ceiling airer, an extra toilet off the hall and a slues-room. Underfloor heating. Undercover parking area. Games room with table tennis table and pool table. Outside sitting area, protected from the wind. BBQ. Covered parking for 2 to 3 cars plus uncovered for a further 2 to 3. 12 acres of meadow with wildflowers.


About the property

Sited on the Southern most tip of the Island overlooking the under-cliff and St Catherine's light house, this property - split in to two unit - has lovely views to the North over farm land and South over the sea. Sitting within a 12 acre field of wild flowers, it is beautifully isolated but still close to attractions and activities. 3 good pubs are within easy walking distance along the round the Island coastal path, that borders the property. The two units can be rented singly or as one (internal lock-off) It is ideal for 2 or 3 families sharing a child friendly holiday or for a family with children, parents and grandparents. High chairs available. A No Smoking policy is in place. We allow 2 behaved dogs only - no sleeping to bedrooms or on furniture, please.The property is wheelchair friendly, as it have wide doorways and is on one level. We supply bed linen and towels. The outside areas have ramps for access. The building has been carefully converted from an old B.T. signal station and we believe, used to house Niton radio. We have put a lot of thought and love into the project, which we hope shows. We have added a games room that has a pool table, small table football and table tennis, table which was finished May 2015

Why Melita Cooper chose Isle of Wight

We love the Isle of Wight and location of this building. We first viewed it in a thick fog but could still see the huge potential to become a lovely holiday home. At the time it had been redundant for sometime and looked rather sorry for itself. Being on the southern coast of the island it is both isolated and near everything. We have put in a massive amount of work and thought into the units. We hope, and think we have achieved our aim of making them both nice places to stay in for ourselves and others.

What makes this house unique

We like the way there is only one house you can see from the property and that is around a mile away. And yet we are so close to Niton village. Location, location, location....

Change over day is Friday. If you are thinking of a two week holiday we could consider other days, out of season. Over the Christmas/New Year period the change over will be Wednesday to Wednesday in 2015

Notes on accommodation: The property is cleaned by Barry, who aims for the highest standard. His number is available on a notice in the units if there is a problem, as are ours. There are several supermarkets on the Island including Waitrose at East Cowes; Tesco at Ryde; and Sainburys in Newport. Waitrose and Tesco will delivery to the property. We don't know if Sainsburys will but suspect they would. Outside: Games room with table tennis table and pool table. BBQ . Outside tables and chairs, Covered parking with The Old Signal House. Decking. 12 acres of meadow.

Car: necessary

Coast/Beach:

The Isle of Wight has some very special beaches. Ventnor is about 5 miles away has a lovely beach of tiny stones. Compton bay is about 8 miles away with its wonderful fossils and sands, best accessed at low tide. Sandown, Ryde and Shanklin are about 10 to 15 miles away and have super beaches. There is a small bay near the house down the Cliff path. It is best at low tide and is approximately a 40 minute walk. The Island is noted for its seaside/ holiday facilities/attractions.

Travel:

One can travel either by Wightlink from Portsmouth or Red Funnel from Southampton on the car ferry. There is a hover craft (from Clarence Pier, Portsmouth) and foot passenger ferry that leaves Portsmouth Harbour station and comes into Ryde. Niton is about 20 -30 minutes across the Island by car from Fishbourne and East Cowes where the car ferries come in. There is a good bus service on the Island but it is much easier by car if travelling with baggage and children.
