Sited on the Southern most tip of the Island overlooking the under-cliff and St Catherine's light house, this property - split in to two unit - has lovely views to the North over farm land and South over the sea. Sitting within a 12 acre field of wild flowers, it is beautifully isolated but still close to attractions and activities. 3 good pubs are within walking distance along the round the Island coastal path, that borders the property. The two units can be rented singly or as one (internal lock-off) It is ideal for 2 or 3 families sharing a child friendly holiday or for a family with children, parents and grandparents. High chairs available. A No Smoking policy is in place. We allow 2 behaved dogs only - no sleeping to bedrooms or on furniture, please. The property is wheelchair friendly, as it have wide doorways and is on one level. We supply bed linen and towels. The outside areas have ramps for access. The building has been carefully converted from an old B.T. signal station and we believe, used to house Niton radio. We have put a lot of thought and love into the project, which we hope shows. We have added a games room that has a pool table, small table football and table tennis, table which was finished May 2015

About James & Melita Cooper
We are a family of 5 living near Chichester. We love the outdoors and space.
James & Melita Cooper purchased this House in 2006
Why James & Melita Cooper chose Niton
We love the Isle of Wight and location of this building. We first viewed it in a thick fog but could still see the huge potential to become a lovely holiday home. At the time it had been redundant for sometime and looked rather sorry for itself. Being on the southern coast of the island it is both isolated and near everything. We have put in a massive amount of work and thought into the units. We hope, and think, we have achieved our aim of making them both nice places to stay in for ourselves and others.
What makes this House unique
We like the way there is only one house you can see from the property and that is around a mile away. And yet we are so close to Niton village. Location, location, location....

Perfect location and comfortable space
We booked this accommodation for our wedding guests and they loved it!!
Great location and enough space for them to chill out and relax.
The property size , facilities and location were very suitable for our family group of 10.
We had a great holiday and enjoyed the property, grounds and location. Only downsides were...there was broken stuff in games room and surrounds which could have been taken away or replaced. Some areas (eg sofa) looked a little tired. Dishwasher broke but was quickly fixed. But we enjoyed the house, layout and space it afforded and would consider returning for further holidays.
Had a wonderful time
Walked parts of the coastal path and enjoyed wonderful views and easy walking. Ate at several local pubs And tho not outstanding was good pub grub. We did all our shopping at the supermarket in Niton and was impressed with the post office which is also a tearoom and bar
Great stay for a family!
Great stay for a family of 9. Grandma, Grand-dad, sons, wives & grand-daughters.
3 cars under-cover! Great for unpacking & re-packing!
Home from home with all the necessary mod-cons.
Well stocked with everything functional & clean.
Rooms are very spacious with en-suite in every room!
Grand-kids ( 6 & 10 ) loved the Mezz!
Water pressure is good!
Huge window south facing in lounge! Looks out over field, coastal path in the distance & south to Atlantic! Brilliant !
Can get hot! Draw the curtains when out & about! But draw them back for a brilliant night sky!
Very quiet, in a field of 10 acres of natural beauty. Really - No noise, no back-light, no traffic! Spent night-time not watching TV but all on the veranda looking at the stars, the ships on the Solent & drinking good wine. Bring a spotter telescope! "Kids" used games room a lot. Ping Pong, Pool & football as well as electronic organ- had good fun. Wildlife was great- birds/owls/bats/crickets. Always something natural in the dark. Great location for Hanover Point beach for surfing & sun-bathing- 20 minutes. Niton just down the road for supplies at local mini-market- competitively priced almost same as Sainsburys. Post Office & Buddle Inn for a pint / great meal- portions are generous. Local Beers good! Coastal path just through a gate at end of field & you can walk to Niton/St Lawrence on the left & Blackgang/Chale on the right. Brilliant walking/hiking!
Also, St Catherine's Light house just on the drop! Wave at the walkers! Weather was so brilliant over the Bank Holiday. We were SO lucky. Sun tans all round. Came down on Red Funnel & back via Wightlink- through New Forest. Congrats to James & Melita for undertaking such a conversion. What a find- keep it quiet (!)- we are coming back!
Coast/Beach: The Isle of Wight has some very special beaches. Ventnor is about 5 miles away has a lovely beach of tiny stones. Compton bay is about 8 miles away with its wonderful fossils and sands, best accessed at low tide. Sandown, Ryde and Shanklin are about 10 to 15 miles away and have super beaches. There is a small bay near the house down the Cliff path. It is best at low tide and is approximately a 40 minute walk. The Island is noted for its seaside/ holiday facilities/attractions. Travel: One can travel either by Wightlink from Portsmouth or Red Funnel from Southampton on the car ferry. There is a hover craft (from Clarence Pier, Portsmouth) and foot passenger ferry that leaves Portsmouth Harbour station and comes into Ryde. Niton is about 30-40 minutes across the Island by car from Fishbourne and East Cowes where the car ferries come in. There is a good bus service on the Island but it is much easier by car if travelling with baggage and children. Distances: The property is 1 mile from Niton, 1 mile from Black gang chine Further Details: There is so much on offer on the Island, from walking and cycling routes to funfair and ice skating. There is something for everyone.
