Well equipped cottage, furnished to a very high standard with solid fuel stove and full central heating. In a great location with plenty of countryside and riverside walks straight from the doorstep. The village pub is newly refurbished and serves high quality food and real ales. There is also a tea room/Bistro in the village and both are only a short stroll away from Bridge View.

Picturesque Reeth is just 6 miles away. Ideal for families and friends looking for an active outdoor holiday. Free Wi-fi broadband throughout the cottage.

This is a truly great cottage, in a perfect setting for exploring beautiful Swaledale.

Short breaks are welcome subejct to availability

Changeover Day:

Changeover day is usually Saturday, depart by 10am, arrive 3pm (4pm in peak weeks). Arrival dates flexible in non-peak times.

Why Chris Haley chose North Yorkshire

I bought Bridge View a few years ago when it was in a pretty poor and neglected state. I have completely renovated it and it is now a real home from home. I adore the Yorkshire Dales and Swaledale is my favourite.

When researching my family tree, I discovered that all my great grandparents were from the area so I figure Swaledale must be in my DNA!

What makes this cottage unique

It is incredibly peaceful, tranquil and beautiful. Ideal base for exploring Swaledale and the surrounding area

Lovely peaceful, rural location Cleaning / Linen All bed linen included, TOWELS NOT PROVIDED. All heating costs included together with coal and kindling for solid fuel stove. Professionally cleaned.

Cosy village retreat

We enjoyed our stay in Gunnerside. The master bedroom is lovely and light and comfortable. The place is very well appointed, and the kitchen very congenial for cooking and eating. The living room is cosy and we enjoyed the wood burning stove, but could benefit from more lamps for an even cosier evening in. Any issues that arose were solved quickly by Chris, who is very attentive. The village is very sweet and has some nice options for eating out and coffee too. This is a walker's hub, and you have only to look out of the window to get encouragement to get your boots on! We had some great walks, and the books and maps provided were very helpful.

Absolutely delightful

Spent my second holiday in the cottage in the first week of April and so knew what to expect. Comfort, pleasant surroundings and everything needed for a really lovely week in the Dales

Lovely spot in the heart of Swaledale

We had a lovely two weeks in Bridge View. The cottage was very conveniently situated with good parking. It is at the start of many good walks and just opposite a friendly pub, and very close to a cafe. The cottage is comfy with 2 king sized bedrooms and one twin. There is a small front garden with table and chairs which is sunny in the morning. We had an incredibly restful and relaxing holiday. There are short strolls through lovely meadows to the river, where we sat and bird watched and had a picnic.

We had a slight problem with the boiler but found Judith, the manager, and Chris the owner very helpful and communicative, so we werent inconvenienced by it.

Perfect for a girls weekend away

We booked the cottage to celebrate a friend's 50th birthday, We were a group of 5 although the cottage sleeps 6.

Gunnerside is in a beautiful part of the Dales. We arrived just in time for the fish & chip van which stops directly outside the cottage. Bonus! Friday night supper all sorted. The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable. Nice kitchen and bathrooms, and comfortable beds. It was perfect for us. Ideally placed for walking, visiting the surrounding area and a stone's throw from the local pub. Cafe/bistro very close by also.

Towels not provided so take your own or request them in advance.

We thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you Chris.

Gunnerside Stay

Very comfortable stay in a lovely cottage overlooking the river Swale and with views of the surrounding fells. The local pub is a stones throw away. I would very much recommend a stay here.

A nice cosy, comfy cottage! Perfect weekend away.

The cottage is in a brilliant location and itself was a really nice cottage. Plenty of room for four of us and well equipped with everything we needed. Chris the owner was very, very helpful and available to speak to whenever we needed

There is a really nice friendly pub only 10 seconds walk from the cottage and also plenty to do in the surrounding area.

We will definitely be staying here again in the near future.

A massive thankyou to Chris for a great weekend!
