Year after year people return to Cornwall for the beautiful sandy beaches, idyllic coastal towns, stunning scenery and fine local food. More than any other town in Cornwall, St. Ives boasts all of those treasures and more. Within walking distance of Bay View are four beautiful golden beaches looking out onto azure blue water. A long time favourite with artists St. Ives is home to the Tate Gallery and many smaller galleries. The train station at St. Ives links with the mainline at St. Erth but many will make the journey to experience the stunning coastal scenery along the line. In town there is an excellent selection of restaurants and pubs offering superb local cuisine and foods for all tastes and budgets. Stretching out from St. Ives you can walk for miles along the Coastal Path. So if you want to enjoy all that St. Ives has to offer there is no need to move your car. Bay view is located in a quiet residential location just 10 minutes walk from the main town and beaches. If you are feeling lazy you can always take the small town bus which stops just outside. Next door to Bay View is a very well stocked local store for all your provisions. The nearest large supermarket (Tesco) is on the outskirts of town a few minutes drive away. Bay View has been designed as an upside down house (bedrooms downstairs, living accommodation upstairs) to take in the views of the ocean and provide a wonderful open plan social space, incorporating kitchen, lounge, dining and kids corner, a room where everyone can be together and enjoy the ambience of this special space. With vaulted ceiling, exposed beams windows to three sides and 8 remote controlled Velux windows the room is light and inviting. When the sun goes down the Lutro remote control lighting system creates the mood you choose for your evening’s entertainment.

To the rear of the property is a courtyard garden with patio furniture for al-fresco dining. A small shed is available for storage of beach equipment. Utility Room: Washing machine and tumble dryer, vacuum cleaner, iron and board, cleaning materials Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed linen, tea towels, bath mats, bath and hand towels provided. Other: We have a no smoking policy indoors but you are welcome to smoke outside.

                                      We have just recently come back from a 3 night stay at this property and everything that you could possibly want and more was here. 5 star accommodation, spotlessly clean and quality throughout. Future visits to Cornwall we will arrange around staying here. Perfect base to explore Cornwall, great for St Ives. Owners were extremely helpful and went out of their wait to accommodate anything you required.

Michael and Eileen allowed us to hire in a hot tub, which made a fabulous addition to my 30th birthday celebrations.                                       Just back from a few days at Bay View and can certainly recommend to anyone. There is everything you could wish for from clean spacious bedrooms to luxurious bathrooms. Excellent value for money and lovely, helpful owners. Living area is very modern with lovely sea views. We will definitely be returning.

                                      Luxurious stay in St Ives

                                      We are just back from a lovely week in Bay View in St Ives. We were very lucky with the weather and with our choice of accommodation. Bay View is a lovely house with a hi-spec interior and light, airy rooms. The kids loved the large TV and the Jacuzzi bath but my favourite gadget had to be the roof windows that closed themselves on the one occasion when it rained whilst we were there. The house is walking distance to the centre of St Ives but choose your route back carefully to avoid the massive hill from Porthmeor beach! We were a bit concerned that the shop next door might be noisy but it wasn’t at all and in fact proved handy for milk etc and because it had a cash machine. As for days out you are spoiled for choice in the area but don’t miss out on a Cornish Pasty from Philps in nearby Hayle. The Cornish Seal Sanctuary is also worth a visit (albeit it is expensive), as is Geevor Tin Mine (complete with friendly ginger cat). We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Bay View and would love to return again in the future.

                                      We have just returned from our second stay at Bay View. It is a fabulous house to holiday in - there is nothing the owners haven't thought of - you won't be disappointed. It is easy to book, with very thoughtful owners, and extremely reasonably priced - you really won't find better in St Ives. It is well maintained and luxurious! Absolutely perfect.

                                      Coast/Beach: Within a short walk from Bay View are 4 magnificant beaches with golden sand and azure blue water. All beaches have facilities nearby. Porthmeor beach is ideal for families and for surfing with lifeguards on attendance during the summer. Porthminster beach is more sheltered and boasts almost half a mile of golden sand. It is easily accessed from the station. Town (Harbour) beach is tidal with lots of sand at low tide. Porthgwidden is a small sandy cove and a favourite with younger families. Travel: By air - Newquay airport is approximately 40 miles away, Exeter airport is 116 miles. By rail – St. Ives has its own station reached on the branch line from St. Erth station. St. Erth is on the mainline from Plymouth. St. Ives station is one mile from Bay View. By road – approximately 5 miles from the A30 which can be reached from the end of the M5 at Exeter, the A38 from Plymouth or the A39 from north Cornwall. Estimated travel times are, London 5 hours, Birmingham 4.5 hours, Bristol 3 hour

                                      Please ignore the estimate amount for breaks shorter than one week. Short breaks are charged at 15% of weekly rate, Monday to Thursday; 20% of weekly rate Friday to Sunday. Reduced rates are available for couples. Changeover day during peak season is Friday. Outside peak season we are happy to consider any arrival day. The person booking the accommodation must be over 18 at the time of booking. Anyone under 18 not accompanied by a legal parent or guardian must provide written consent and contact details from their legal parent or guardian
