Recently converted barn to very high standard, outstanding kitchen, four en suite bedrooms, beautiful lounge with excellent views, summer or winter, adjacent conservatory with pool table. This small farm stands at 500 feet above sea level and is still used for retired race horses and a small herd of breeding sheep. The area is well known for outstanding walks in adjacent woodlands and on the limestone pavements of Hampsfell. An abundance of wildlife can be seen including roe deer, badgers and foxes. The bird life is exceptional, in particular green woodpeckers, spotted woodpeckers, long tail tits, nuthatches and buzzards.
I am a retired international business man. Have also been a farmer in the Scottish Borders. I have been a race horse owner for a number of years and still have a small farm in the Lakes where I breed and keep top quality horses. We have had winners at Cheltenham Festival, Aintree and of course Cartmel and look forward to having many more winners in the future. The horses are trained locally and stable visits can be arranged to watch horses work on the gallops. I also have other properties, one with Lake frontage and one at the farm where the horses are kept.
Maurice Chapman purchased this farmhouse in 2014
Our family of 7 adults and 1 baby enjoyed a lovely stay at Home Farm this week. The property was fantastic with lots of space and finished to a high standard, particularly the very well equipped kitchen. The Games Room with Pool Table was a hit and the gardens and neighbouring farmland were lovely. Home Farm is full of character but also has all mod cons especially the lovely en suite bathrooms. The owners were very friendly and helpful too. We would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting the area and hope to return next year!
