Hi I'm Andrew, I am renting out my own personal home while I travel and undertake various challenges (adventures) in life and work. Why Andrew Martin chose South East Cornwall

Looe is a most beautiful town, with great access to a safe, sandy beach, the stunning South West Coast Path and the best fish market in the UK (so says Rick Stein) The people here are incredibly warm and friendly... I have lived here on and off for the last 6 years and have made so many great friends. The house is within 10 mins walk of all the amenities, shops, restaurants, pubs and the beach, yet is set in a very quiet and peaceful location with views down to the Looe River. The city of Plymouth is only 30 mins away, yet this is a haven of peace and tranquillity, but with so much to do close by....

What makes this house unique

My home is spacious and light, furnished to the highest standards... and is ideal for families with children, extended families and groups of friends. There is a lovely large terrace at the front with patio table and chairs, which gets the afternoon and long evening sun... and has views down to the Looe river. It has good parking for 2 large cars, a real bonus in Looe

Nice house in a quiet part of Looe. Mixed weather but lots to do locally. Great day out on the beach

A spacious house with two lounges that enabled the children to have a play area! A shower in the bathroom would have been useful. A good West facing big patio for evening sun. Parking approach uphill and in a narrow bending lane was challenging. All round it was a good holiday home for four adults and two children.

Picture-postcard holidays… Looe is special … an ancient coastal smuggling town, with a gorgeous family beach, quaint streets and a working fish market. Recently awarded Silver in the Best UK Coastal Resort Category in the British Travel Awards!!

Beach – Sandy, south-facing, with shallow waters that offer excellent safe swimming, great facilities close at hand, and nestling beneath the iconic Banjo Pier, East Looe Beach is the perfect family beach.

Walking – Looe sits on the South West Coast Path giving easy access to some of the prettiest coastal walking anywhere. The South West Coast Path Guide describes the walk from Looe to the ancient smuggling village of Polperro thus… “A coastal walk taking in a holy legend and a sixth century monastery, as well as an eighteenth century eccentric and a nineteenth century engineer. There are rockpools on the beaches, with remnants of shipwrecks and tales of smugglers, and the walk ends with a stroll up through the picturesque fishing village of Polperro to Crumplehorn, where you can catch a bus back to Looe.”

For our most welcome German visitors, (amongst others) Rosamunde Pilcher's - Karussell des Lebens - the 3rd ever episdoe of the long running series was filmed in and around Looe & Polperro.

Food & Drink.. for many years place renowned for all the best a traditional seaside town could offer, ice creams, past and great fish&chips, has now added to a growing reputation of Looe for its range of restaurants, to suit all levels. Home to the South East Cornwall Food Festival (with demonstrations by the Tanner Brothers and James Strawbridge of 'Hungry Sailors' fame) there is a growing number a wonderful places to eat.... and when it comes to fish , this is the place to be... described in his Food Heroes as 'my favourite fish market".. Rick says "It's the best fish in the world... Where better to experience superlative quality fish than Looe."
