Woodmanwray Chapel is a newly converted former chapel. Originally built in 1839, it now provides stylish and comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people in a peaceful location in beautiful Nidderdale. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and downstairs there is a large open plan living area with a double sofa bed, dining area and comfortable seating. The kitchen and utility rooms are separate and well equipped. A travel cot and high chair are available on request. The Chapel has been thoughtfully furnished to create a home from home whatever the time of year. It is well insulated with underfloor heating and a log burning stove, for cosy evenings whatever the weather. There is plenty of enclosed outdoor space for ball games and picnics and room to park several cars. Secure storage for bikes is available in a locked bike shed. Nidderdale is a quiet and attractive base for walking and cycling holidays, yet it is only a short car ride from Harrogate with its many amenities. Excellent food shops and restaurants are within easy reach in Pateley Bridge and there are several local pubs within a 10 minute drive.

About Alison Simpson
My name is Alison Simpson and I live with my family on a neighbouring farm. If you come to Woodmanwray Chapel you will probably meet some of our farm animals! You may well see our sheepdogs being trained and we will certainly bring you some of our eggs. We are really proud of the Chapel and hope that all of our visitors will love it as much as we do. We think you will find that Nidderdale is a great place to visit.
Alison Simpson purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Alison Simpson chose Borough of Harrogate
Its a great location as its really quiet and peaceful, yet there is lots to do just a short drive away. Harrogate with its restaurants and shops is only a 20 minute drive away and from there you can take a train to the amazing city of York. Nidderdale offers charming scenery, lots of 'foodie' shops and friendly people. There are ideas for walks and cycle rides in the cottage and for kids of all ages there are gorges to walk, rocks to climb and rivers to paddle in.
What makes this Cottage unique
Although the Chapel is completely modernised it still retains a lot of its original charm in the stained glass windows and stone sun porch.

Lovely converted chapel in peaceful location
Excellent! Cottage is well equipped, very comfortable and in a lovely quiet location.
We'll definitely be returning!!
Thanks for your lovely comments and for leaving the Chapel so tidy! We look forward to welcoming you back to Nidderdale soon.
A great spot to rest and enjoy the glorious countryside.
Perfectly positioned and appointed cottage
We had a 4 night stay at this lovely cottage.
The directions provided were helpful and the cottage was easy to find. Both bedrooms are a good size and on has an on suite shower & toilet.
The kitchen is well appointed, with plenty of storage space and decent equipment
The living room and open dining room are big with suitable hints to its past as an old church. The TV signal wasn’t great but this is a cottage in which to relax rather than be connected with the outside world. The internet was fine and there is a DVD player integrated into the TV
We would certainly recommend this cottage and will hopefully come back one day as there is so much to see in the region
Lovely house.Very homely and we'll located
We had a really fun few days despite the weather.Lots of lambs, walks and cricket in the misty garden
A comfortable relaxing place to stay. Accommodation was spacious, clean and well equipped.
Central to walks and places of interest.
Would book again.
Historic Cottage With Everything You Need
My wife and I had a wonderful time at Woodmanray. Everything is as per the photos and description, it is a wonderfully restored former Methodist chapel with every comfort. It would appear from reading the guestbook that the owner has followed up on any suggestions made by guests, the latest being the addition of wifi. This is quite useful and solves the problem of lack of cell (mobile) call and data coverage - the signal is weak on the property and cannot penetrate stone walls. But then again, you should really be outside on a hike anyways! We would have no hesitation returning to this rural gem.
Leeds Bradford airport is approximately 25 minutes away by car. Car probably needed.

Excellent local food shops and a good Italian restaurant in Pateley Bridge. Convenience store in Summerbridge open until late. All major supermarkets deliver too! Several pubs serving food within a 10 minute drive.
