Overview

About the property

Cottage in Harrogate, Yorkshire, England - Peaceful Location Makes an Ideal Base for Walking and Cycling. 3 Miles from Pateley Bridge

Woodmanwray Chapel is a newly converted former chapel. Originally built in 1839, it now provides stylish and comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people in a peaceful location in beautiful Nidderdale. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and downstairs there is a large open plan living area with a double sofa bed, dining area and comfortable seating. The kitchen and utility rooms are separate and well equipped. A travel cot and high chair are available on request. The Chapel has been thoughtfully furnished to create a home from home whatever the time of year. It is well insulated with underfloor heating and a log burning stove, for cosy evenings whatever the weather. There is plenty of enclosed outdoor space for ball games and picnics and room to park several cars. Secure storage for bikes is available in a locked bike shed. Nidderdale is a quiet and attractive base for walking and cycling holidays, yet it is only a short car ride from Harrogate with its many amenities. Excellent food shops and restaurants are within easy reach in Pateley Bridge and there are several local pubs within a 10 minute drive.

About Alison Simpson

My name is Alison Simpson and I live with my family on a neighbouring farm. If you come to Woodmanwray Chapel you will probably meet some of our farm animals! We will certainly bring you some of our eggs.

We are really proud of the Chapel and hope that all of our visitors will love it as much as we do.

We think you will find that Nidderdale is a great place to visit.

Historic Cottage With Everything You Need

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I had a wonderful time at Woodmanray. Everything is as per the photos and description, it is a wonderfully restored former Methodist chapel with every comfort. It would appear from reading the guestbook that the owner has followed up on any suggestions made by guests, the latest being the addition of wifi. This is quite useful and solves the problem of lack of cell (mobile) call and data coverage - the signal is weak on the property and cannot penetrate stone walls. But then again, you should really be outside on a hike anyways! We would have no hesitation returning to this rural gem.

Excellent holiday accomodation

  • 5 of 5

An immaculately kept house, very clean with high quality finishes set in a wonderful rural location. An ideal base for walking the Nidderdale Way and for visiting culture hot spots such as York and Harrogate. The owner was very helpful both before and during our stay. Have no hesitation in highly recommending this property to others for both short and long stays.

Stunning... great place to unwind and spend time with family

  • 5 of 5

We had a most pleasant stay at Woodmanwray. Beautiful conversion, the Chapel had everything we could have imagined and more. Very peaceful location, easy to find, we loved the fact that there is no wifi, perfect if you want to spend quality time with family, recharge and unwind. We spent 4 wonderful nights with our 3 children, aged twelve, ten and three, who had a great time. Plenty of space indoors and outdoors, furnished to a very high standard.
